Bullet drop
« on: May 05, 2013, 12:14:48 am »
Okay i've had this discussion since NW got released.

Is there bullet drop?
I've heard yes
I've heard no (that you should aim straight at the target always)

I even heard there are 2 kinds of bullet a 'real' one and the 'virtual' one.
The real one is the one that is just effects and makes the little dust when it hits the ground.
The virtual one is invisible and that one goes straight and is the one that kills the target.

Now please can some one clear this up once and for all?

I don't think the bullet goes straight foward, so there probably is bullet drop

From what I can tell, yes there is. It seems that after 30 meters, there is bullet drop, and it gets even more severe at around 70~ meters.

Every object drops after being ''released''. But the speed can change when it drops, a bullet gets released on ALLOT of speed so it drops later, but still. It does have bullet drop, even though in NW, I always aim for the head and somethimes I hit and somethimes I don't.  :-\

Not sure. I aimed across the entire map which was like 500 metres when aiming at the persons head, perhaps a tiny bit above it and got a headshot.

My Theory is that you will hit whatever you are aiming at 20% of the time.   ;D

simple. Tell a line to aim at a ling across the map. If no hits then there is bullet drop.
Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

I already explained this and the demonstration we used to prove it in the other thread. Do a search for it, I think it was in the community board.

Yes, there is.

Guns are just converted native crossbows, go play native, do the crossbow bolts drop? Yes.
The bullets are exactly the same. The bullets are a real projectile you can sometimes see, they just changed the bolt model to a bullet.

However you can set the speed at which they fly through the air, so with a higher speed it will hit the ground further away.
You can also set the strength of gravity but it isn't changed in NWs.

There is a bullet drop but it's very random and sometimes it seems that there is not a bullet drop mostly aiming at banner( in long distances, head (in average distances) and chest (in average or closer distances) should get you a kill :/

No there is no bullet drop.
Reason why, look at the bots in commander battle. They do not adjust their aim. They aim straight at them. They get headshots and hits.
Another I thing I learn is that there is a 35% bullet drop.

The bulletdrop is very randomly , you can aim straight at the enemy and you have some chances to hit it .

Aim for their chest / head in first person and you will hit a good 20% od the time I'd say
