General Discussion / Re: [Suggestion] Realism/Arcade Game Types

Would rather have twice the amount of regiments in game than having to make another uniform for every unit.

They don't speak the same type of language as Sweden, Denmark and Norway. A swede can go to Norway or Denmark and easily understand the language (maybe not so much Denmark since it sound like they have their mouths full of porridge) and vice versa, however it's not the same with Finland since they have a completly different language type.

Finland is like a no mans land between scandinavia and Russia.

You're all just to drunk to understand us  ;)

Har ingen problemer med norsk, holder en del øvelser med dem i flåden. Men svensk forstå jeg intet af! ;)

It's weird but am I the only one who just doesn't look at the sticky threads anymore? My eyes just go to the top thread.
This.
Really wonder why a thread like the Portrait one is sticked. And the Mod Focus too. It hasn't been updated in 4 months and wasn't even done properly last?

Historical Discussion / Re: Napoleonic Wars and shellshock, PTSD etc.
« on: March 16, 2014, 04:49:49 am »
I somehow find it quite hard to believe that poems like the one quoted above to be a proper source to prove that PTSD existed centuries ago as much of it was just as artistic as it was something real. However, I don't say PTSD didn't exist. I just dont think it has never been known like we see it today.
Back in the times, centuries ago, people was just forced to go on, continue living with the horrible experiences from their past popping up in their mind. The people that was more harmed than the main group of soldiers would probably just have been excluded from society and excused as lunatics born that way.
With the WW1 definition of Shell Shock, we came closer to knowing what was actually going on, but still not knowing what to actually do about the traumas that many soldiers had. Therefor, I think it's not strange that people understood it as a physical/mental as a result of being under fire from explosive shells rather than being a result of the traumas that many of the soldiers experienced.

Oh so you like to take care of a horse 5 hours a day for 9 months? With some 4 parades where you actually get to show off what you have learned?
Or you would like to be send to Reaktionsstyrken to be blown up by some IED in Afghanistan? Sounds nice.

Edit: Or is it only 6 months? Anyway, find somewhere better to serve your time. Guard Hussars don't give anywhere as much credit later in life than just serving in one of the normal training battalions. If you want something special, go for the Life Guards, Frømandskorpset or Jægerkorpset. Never heard of anything more pointless than the training for the Guards Hussars apart the HBU. Even the SBU is better...

Mikkel told me you can just say 'nah thanks' and not be conscripted...

We have mandatory constription, but because there is so many volounteers only 2% is actually forced in. At the moment there is a 2-year wait until you can get into pretty much any branch even if you volounteer.

@Bramif: You can go the Forsvarets Dag (place where you'll pick a number to decide if you'll be drafted or not along with all the physical tests) in the years you're turning 18 and until the year you're turning 25 :)
A little tip: if you want to volounteer and get in the year you're turning 18, apply to get to Forsvarets Dag before you actually get the letter from Forsvaret. Othervise you're gonna wait for a damn long time before you actually get in...

OT: I volounteered and joining the navy here on march 17th :)

Been listening to a lot of rap the last year or so and really like it. Not the typical fan though :D

Jurassic 5 - Concrete Schoolyard
Awesome group with some quite nice lyrics and all of the is quite awesome technical. Old unfortunely...

Angel Haze - Werkin' Girls
She can rap insanely, but unfortunely quite boring to see live (seen her twice)

Joey Bada$$ - My Yout
Worst fucking name inmagineable... But raps awesome and has made some amazing tracks.

Yup, we're removing all non-constructive threads that says nothing else than "Rome 2 ist poop and CA is poopers!".   ;)
If you can give me a thread name or similar, I can try to find your thread/post if it was deleted :)
