54th 'West Norfolk' Regiment of Foot [Recruiting NA]
« on: November 28, 2015, 03:07:06 am »

The 54th regiment of Foot is a well organized, mature, and discipline regiment in the Napoleonic Wars North Americans Community! We pride ourselves on showing respect and maturity throughout the community and being a competitive regiment. All of our players know their roles in the regiment and execute them in full. We are a very relaxed group; however, we require our members to be discipline on the field; this is just to allow the best possible order and unison between our three Battalions. In game we play as line infantry most of the time. We attend small size events that are line only- they are action pact and competitive. Joining the regiment will allow you to acquire more skill in the game as well as making some pretty awesome memories with your fellow rankers! Pick up the shilling lad; join for King and Country!

Signed, Colonel Lawrence of Norfolk

During the American Revolution, the 54th Regiment assaulted Fort Griswold in Groton, Connecticut on September 6, 1781 in the Battle of Groton Heights. The battle resulted in almost 80 American soldiers being massacred by the British after the American commander, Lieutenant Colonel William Ledyard, had surrendered.
In May 1778 100 men of the 54th Regiment of Foot embarked on boats to attack saw mills at Fall River, Massachusetts. The galley Pigot and some armed boats were to provide support. Pigot grounded, but the attack proceeded anyway. A sharp skirmish ensued when the troops arrived at their objective. Even so, they were able to destroy one saw mill and one grain mill, as well as a large stock of planks and boards, other buildings, some cedar boats, and so on. They then withdrew, having lost two men killed and five officers and men wounded. As the tide returned, Pigot was floated off, but as Flora towed her off, Flora lost two men killed and a lieutenant severely wounded

After the American revolution the, the 54th went on to fight in many major battles in the Napoleonic Wars. The regiment fought during the Peninsular Campaign, helping Wellington defeat the French in France Occupied Spain. The regiment reformed when the French Emperor Napoleon Returned from Elba. At Quatre-Bras and Waterloo the 54th distinguished themselves on the battlefield. After the Napoleonic wars they continued as a regiment until 1857.

Hey hey, 29th! One higher than 28th! Never forget those lost that summer because smaller regiments are always better. Good luck on spending a couple days to recruit over a hundred people, I'm looking forward to next week when they all quit NW because you kick them out.
