Olafson makes a good point though. Why make an unfitting D-Day map when you can make one of a Gallipoli landing? Many were similar to the D-Day landings and it's actually WWI.

As I never played IE I don't know what maps there are at all - is there a Verdun map? It would be cool if someone were to make a nicely done version of it.

I have no idea how the map would work unless we remodeled the ships into ww1 transport vessels to give a little more cover. It's hard as the vast majority of ww1 was land battles. Even a historian like myself who has studied ww1 many time and even went to a large conference yesterday I listened to lecture after lecture with nobody talking about naval to land battles. (apart from the bombardment of Scarbour and stuff)
