Is Cav going to be included? If not Im going to be very sad and self destructive.

Could you imagine Gettysburg without cavalry? The actions at day 1 and day 3 deserve cavalry! But at 90 % of the time, you had dismounted cavalry units.

Wasnt pure and actual Cavalry more of a scouting force then a full fledged combat force during these days?

Indeed. But the cavalry had two tasks: Scouting the enemy movements and protecting the flanks of the moving army.
But in many battles, they took position of important objectives of the battlefield and defended the first waves, til the main body of infantry arrived.

But you did not see many cavalry charges on horse backs, like back in the napoleonic age.

Cavalry would be something that can not be added, in my opinion.

Why? I think it would ruin a part of the game. You know that it was because Lee's Cavalry was gone, they attacked the Union positions at Gettysburg. While they barely had any idea what was infront of them? As he said himself many times. Without the Cavalry, the Army of Northern Virginia was blind.

- Correct me if i'm wrong afcourse :P How I picked it up.

But yeh.

Well I mean, I feel Cavalry was much more popular in MM than NW. Only some Cavalry regiments left at the moment but they are another aspect of the game that other people might enjoy. I understand though that it's sometimes quite annoying in LB's where the Cav attacks in LB's and just harasses/destroys your line.

Well, seeing how good firearms ought to be in this game, Fending of cavalry will very likely be very easy, Not that something beeing irritating is reason enough for it to be removed.
And besides, imagine beeing pinned down by enemy artillery, what wouldnt you do to have a squadron of friendly cavaliers to help you out?

You actually need cavalry in that game now.
You need about 30 minutes to get from one map corner to the other. In huge line battles, you need your cavalry to scout the enemy movements, otherwise your army will be doomed ;)

And this project does sound awesome! Good luck with it.
