It's always fun to see that. And then at worst, we are lucky to have two cavgf servers which allows us to alternate from one to the other for riders who want to train or enjoy the game.

I would like to thank the event organizers for providing yet another solid proof that NW patch 1.2 changes to hussar and heavy cav classes brought horrible imbalance,
to the point that these classes should fight in separate categories and never mix.
These changes were lobbied for by certain heavy cav players (who are, by nature of their mentality, always on the lookout for any advantage they can grab) and approved and implemented by FSE, who either have no clue about how their own game works or just didn't give a damn.
Just to recoup what changes we are talking about:
Hussars:
-reduction in light sabre range (supposedly to fix "ghost length" issue, which was the worst way to go about it, and it didn't really fix it, nor did heavy swords receive same treatment)
Heavy cav:
-increase in horse maneuver (thereby taking away from hussars the only advantage they had over other classes, also this increases the speed of sword swing if used right),
-increase in hit points (the effect of this in team fights shouldn't need an explanation)
The effect of these changes multiply with skill*number of players in team.
Heavy cav players are victims of these changes as well, for their successes will be rightfully disputed by experienced players. Of course advantages don't compensate for skill, but watching skilled heavy cav players patting themselves on their helmets, denying the OPness of their class and organizing mixed category tournaments is just, ugh... Truth be told, the ones we should be really angry at is FSE.

It doesn't seem to me that the Heavy Cavalry is invulnerable. I get the feeling you're looking for a bad excuse to justify your defeat.
Besides, it seems obvious to me that there was a huge gap in level between our two teams. It's not as if the score had been 7-6, then maybe we could have discussed the advantages or defects of certain classes. Now, for this match, the score is: 7-0! So even if the DCL had played hussar against you, the score would have been the same. You would have lost 7-0.
In short, in my opinion your message is not even worth taking seriously.
Your excuse to justify your heavy defeat is false. The truth is, you lost to one of the favourites and there's no shame in it. Nevertheless, good luck for the rest of the tournament.

Secondly, I ask you not to insult anyone. I respect your words, but insults on this thread will not be tolerated.
Let me be clear: the first team of the DCL is an elite team. It is made up of members who are veterans and have quite a track record. Each of its members is capable of leading their team to victory. To dare to say that it is because of their class is a real lack of respect! I would even like to add that most of the members of DCL team 1 are as good in cuirassier as they are in hussar. The proof? You can look at the hussars cup scores as well as the results of the different cavalry duels. Michnicki, Naz, Ghazi, me have been in the top players of their teams. Thorvic was in the French hussar team and was one of its best. Not to mention the fact, that every member of this team has beaten the best teams of hussars and cuirassiers at least once.
With a team like this, it's no wonder we won our first three games easily. Likewise, that the OPALs have a really excellent team.
Finally, I would conclude on this, the team we have formed is really a war machine. Whether you consider that the class we've chosen is just bad player behaviour. All of our players have unfairly heard that they are only good because they play a "cheaté" class when in truth they are just full of talent. That's always motivated us to kick ass and we'll continue to do that until the end of the competition!

But during this match, for some reasons, they underperformed, a lot. The video in itself tends to show it. We did several mistakes during the match, but they missed a large part of the opportunity they had. These things can happen to anyone you know, no matter your skill. I don't think it can be attributed to "Luck", criterias like concentration/team focus/momentum effect would be more appropriate.

Hussars quickly became the default class when it came to the competitive area, at a point that no other class could represent a challenge (the first CNC was quite of an exception). Lancers are quite an exception in the NW cavalry, therefore it's irrelevant to consider them here.

Since the hitbox doesn't match the texture, it made those swords having "ghost reaches". That's what makes the Native scimitar one of the best one-handed weapons. NW cavalry swords were quite a mess before 1.2, even more for "heavies" swords, whose had length differences depending on the nation you played as.
Heavy cav:

Heavy and medium horses are slightly more maneuverable.Let's make the statement that the aforementioned buff was a +2 maneuver. If it is so, it's kind of a huge buff to a horse, but considering medium/heavy horses overall weaknesses back in time, I think it was necessary. Though, hussars still have quite an edge on this department. An excellent hussar player is close to unbeatable against any heavy cavalry player on a 1v1 situation, while the antithesis isn't proven yet. The sword speed increase comes with it of course, but following your reasoning, on the "speed" criteria, heavy cavalry speed attack is no match against the hussar's potential speed attack (shorter but faster sword, more WPF in one-handed than heavy cavalry (160 for hussars, 140 for heavy cavalry, 2012 thread).

14pk is not officially disbanded (as a matter of fact, it became such wide multi-game franchise that it can't be "disbanded" like a common regiment) but due to the negativity that arisen around us simultaneously to our success, it's not worthwhile for us to deal with your lot anymore.
And about the abovementioned negativity I can only say this - it's sad how some people who pretended to be friendly and supportive at the beginning, never having any trouble accepting 1v1 requests and playing with us (or even gladly borrowing our players for their official matches), turned hostile as soon as we got strong enough to beat them. From "it's great to have you around - heavy power is back!" to "you should be banned, cancerous heavies". And in some cases, it only took minutes after the CNWL match for the true colours to be seen, as a effect of uncontained rage. Clearly, the problem is not with us, but with people who can't deal with a lost game and need to attack people they lost to in every way they can think of.
Oddly enough, I've been in NW cavalry for ages but this whole concept of banning heavies is almost entirely new to me. I remember the very first season of CNWL, playing against the old 14pk as a member of 8e hussards. And I don't recall any of our officers bitching about the class differences. We just did our best. Just like we used to play competetive 1v1's against... yes, LANCERS. But that's maybe because the old "hussar gods" were far more skilled and versatile when compared to today's pretenders. And better people, too. And maybe because 8e's regimental motto was Quel que soit l'obstacle - No matter what are the obstacles while today, motto of some regiments and individuals is Ban the obstacles or we'll cry. This is what you're trying to do, the appearances aside - even if it means to strip the game to only one playable class (ridiculous), you'll just try to exclude the opponents you can't tackle. If you can still feel some unwarranted satisfaction, having done so - good for you.
The last CNC and recent CNWL completely re-defined the expression "bad loser" for me. But a bad loser loses twice. Once, in the match, second time - when he can't act with dignity afterwards. And in the end, he only hurts himself, because mistakes acknowledged are lessons learned. Ultimately, as long as there are no game altering cheats involved, your failure is your failure and you have only yourself to blame. Not monkeys with sticks. Not the OP heavies. Yourself and your own shortcomings. Many of you, however, are too petty and self-impressed to acknowledge this fact. That is why I enjoyed leading the regiment along Zahari - whenever one of ours tried to blame our failures on the opponent's luck/class/dubious playstyle, he was first to cut it short and say: no, if we lost, it's YOU/ME/US who fucked up. And here, gentlemen (if there are any around), is one of the true reasons we progressed and eventually got all of you under our heel.
But it's fine now. Those who been around, know I was hussar played to begin with. I can be perfectly happy never playing a cuirassier again, so I have no personal interest in defending the "heavy case" at this point. After we made hot mess out of all top hussar regiments (with the exception of 9e - RIP), 14pk can walk away, taking CNWL cup and a fairly won title of best cavalry regiment of 2018 along. I just feel sad for other cuirassiers, more dedicated to their class choice (stay stronk, 1erRC), for the prospects of NW cavalry as a whole and for having discovered some people to be complete wankers.

| To put back some context within this match, 5v5 has been the golden format when it comes to cavalry groupfighting on NW. Initially hosted as one night tournaments by PrideofNI back in 2013 and further, that format was brought back to live by the 2Lr last year thanks to a well-thought and organized tournament hosted in between two major regimental leagues. That event received a very positive response from the community with many teams signing-up for it and countless famous skilled names taking part. The grand-final happened to be a much-anticipated rematch between the 5e Taz and the 1er Cuirassiers which had seen the latter take the upper-hand during the group stage. The final was no different in that regards and while lifting their first trophy in that format, DragonKing and his men also confirmed a growing trend which had the heavy becoming the dominant force in the cavalry community, after years of hussar domination. (https://gyazo.com/f97a288516c7cbfb7ecf563d8f692d61.png) THE 1erRC QUICKLY BECAME A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH IN THE CCL S1 AS YOU COULD NEVER COUNT THEM OUT, NO MATTER THE ROUND | Shortly after, the 1er Cuirassiers became part of a larger group, the DLC (Division de Cavalerie Lourde) and capitalized on their 5v5 victory in the best possible manner by winning another trophy, as a regiment versus other regiments this time, during the CCL Season 2. Since then, the community went a bit quiet. The 5e Hussard announced its disbanding after many years at the very top of the regimental cavalry scene. The Nr4, which had had an amazing run in the CCL2, also went inactive and the 4e Hussard’s participation, undoubtedly the greatest regiment of all time, became quite uncertain in regards to future competitive events. DIVISION DE CAVALERIE LOURDE From the beginning, the Division de Cavalerie Lourde (DCL) was established as a heavy favourite for this tournament. Winner of the previous 5v5 Groupfighting Tournament under the 1erRC banner and of the CCL Season 2, the DCL has been unstoppable lately, no matter as a regiment or a team. Effectively speaking, they registered two teams under the DCL banner but only one of them was capable to make it all the way and that’s logically the one we are going to mention in this preview. Their groupstage went as you would expect it for a team of this calibre, only dropping one little round against the other heavy team of their group, the 8pk, but winning all four matches in the most one-sided possible manner. Their quarter-final and semi-final followed the same road as Fire99rs and the 2Lr were quickly dispatched by the DCL, 7-0 and 7-1 respectively. In the previous 5v5 tournament where they played as the 1erRC, the heavy team already showed a clear dominance in most of their matches but at least they had been slightly contested by the 5eTaz in both their matches, showing they were dominant, but not invincible. For this competition, it seems they have somehow managed to strengthen their gameplay, explaining why no teams managed to come even close to beating them. There is also another reality which is that looking at the rosters, the two other heavy favourites, Animals and Gimps, were in the other side of the knockout stage meaning the DCL is yet to have faced the very best team in the tournament. It could be a downside for them yet it is hard to picture a team such as the DCL coming unprepared in this grand-final. Even though they did not get challenged yet in that tournament they are all experienced and aware enough to know that they were the team to beat from the get-go and that they have to take any opposition in that grand-final as seriously as possible. | GIMPS Gimps were one of the teams assembled specifically for this competition, as it is often the case for groupfighting tournaments. Its members come from very different horizons but with such experienced and skilled players as the ones Tival recruited, it became fairly obviously at the start of the tournament that this team would be a very strong contender for the title. GRAND FINAL PREVIEWThis Sunday marks the conclusion of the 5v5 – Cavalry Tournament hosted this early 2020, with the Division de Cavalerie Lourde lead by DragonKing taking on Tival’s Gimps in the much-awaited grand-final.
The competition took place during two months where 150 players spread across 22 teams fought tooth and nails in an intense group stage which saw 8 of qualify for a prestigious knockout stage. Two of these teams proved to be one level above the rest of the competition and managed to progress further and further by beating some of the toughest opposition there was in that tournament yet, despite having both displayed some amazing skills throughout the tournament, only one of them will have the chance to lift the trophy and go down as the ultimate 5v5 champion.
To get a chance to reflect on this upcoming clash between some of the greatest players the NW cavalry scene has ever witnessed, I will be breaking down this match through a lengthy and detailed article which I hope will fill you with hype and impatience. Welcome, to the 5v5 – Cavalry Tournament grand-final match preview.
INTRODUCTION
To put back some context within this match, 5v5 has been the golden format when it comes to cavalry groupfighting on NW. Initially hosted as one night tournaments by PrideofNI back in 2013 and further, that format was brought back to live by the 2Lr last year thanks to a well-thought and organized tournament hosted in between two major regimental leagues. That event received a very positive response from the community with many teams signing-up for it and countless famous skilled names taking part. The grand-final happened to be a much-anticipated rematch between the 5e Taz and the 1er Cuirassiers which had seen the latter take the upper-hand during the group stage. The final was no different in that regards and while lifting their first trophy in that format, DragonKing and his men also confirmed a growing trend which had the heavy becoming the dominant force in the cavalry community, after years of hussar domination. THE 1erRC QUICKLY BECAME A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH IN THE CCL S1 AS YOU COULD NEVER COUNT THEM OUT, NO MATTER THE ROUNDShortly after, the 1er Cuirassiers became part of a larger group, the DLC (Division de Cavalerie Lourde) and capitalized on their 5v5 victory in the best possible manner by winning another trophy, as a regiment versus other regiments this time, during the CCL Season 2. Since then, the community went a bit quiet. The 5e Hussard announced its disbanding after many years at the very top of the regimental cavalry scene. The Nr4, which had had an amazing run in the CCL2, also went inactive and the 4e Hussard’s participation, undoubtedly the greatest regiment of all time, became quite uncertain in regards to future competitive events. THE DCL WINNING THE CCL S2 ILLUSTRATED THE PEAK OF THE HEAVY DOMINANCE AND PROVED THE 14PK LEGACY WAS WELL AND TRULY CARRIED
It’s in such context that another 5v5 Cavalry Tournament was hosted by DragonKing – with a format very similar to the successful one hosted by the 2Lr some months before. Despite the lack of activity regimentally wise, many players answered the call, and with Bannerlord rising on the horizon, this competition appeared to be the best way to settle the score between heavies and hussars. Would DragonKing and his men leave NW on a high note by establishing a huge heavy dominance in the late era of NW and proving undefeated or would a team of brave hussars manage to bring back some balance by contesting the victory to them? The answer is yet to be known yet we can certainly already draw some conclusions about that match-up by looking at the previous results of both these teams, as well as their players' strengths
TEAMS
DIVISION DE CAVALERIE LOURDE
From the beginning, the Division de Cavalerie Lourde (DCL) was established as a heavy favourite for this tournament. Winner of the previous 5v5 Groupfighting Tournament under the 1erRC banner and of the CCL Season 2, DragonKing and his men have been unstoppable lately, no matter as a regiment or a team. Effectively speaking, they registered two teams under the DCL banner but only one of them was capable to make it all the way and that’s logically the one we are going to mention in this preview.
Their groupstage went as you would expect it for a team of this calibre, only dropping one little round against the other heavy team of their group, the 8pk, but winning all four matches in the most one-sided possible manner. Their quarter-final and semi-final followed the same road as Fire99rs and the 2Lr were quickly dispatched by the DCL, 7-0 and 7-1 respectively.
In the previous 5v5 tournament where they played as the 1erRC, the heavy team already showed a clear dominance in most of their matches but at least they had been slightly contested by the 5eTaz in both their matches, showing they were dominant, but not invincible. For this competition, it seems they have somehow managed to strengthen their gameplay, explaining why no teams managed to come even close to beating them.
There is also another reality which is that looking at the rosters, the two other heavy favourites, Animals and Gimps, were in the other side of the knockout stage meaning the DCL is yet to have faced the very best team in the tournament. It could be a downside for them yet it is hard to picture a team such as the DCL coming unprepared in this grand-final. Even though they did not get challenged yet in that tournament they are all experienced and aware enough to know that they were the team to beat from the get-go and that they have to take any opposition in that grand-final as seriously as possible.
GIMPS
Gimps were one of the teams assembled specifically for this competition, as it is often the case for groupfighting tournaments. Its members come from very different horizons but with such experienced and skilled players as the ones Tival recruited, it became fairly obviously at the start of the tournament that this team would be a very strong contender for the title.

Do not forget the 1m safety distance! When fighting on the ground, try to outrange your opponents. When they are spammers and come very close, give them a kick to remind them of the safety distance!

The Gimps
Its been a pleasure to lead this team through the stages and the hard battles we fought. I set up this team to prove that such players can play together as one, the team work they created was among some of the best I have been part of. A great bunch of lads and well deserved run to the final, it wasn't our time but to give the champions a run for their money was good enough for me!
