Would anyone be interested in a Sunday siege, and would you prefer it in the afternoon or evening?

Community / R.I.P. Alan, once a leader of the 95th Rifles
« on: January 18, 2014, 03:42:06 am »
I dont know how many people remain in the community that knew Alan, nor if they ever visit. But as most games, mainly younger people play this. As such, they are less prone to fatal incidents/events. It makes it rare to see something like this happen in the community, especially to someone so respected when he played.

It's a sad day to see someone whom you've spent time with pass away, even when it was only over the internet. Unfortunately Alan has been taken from us. You can read more about the incident in the news article below, if youre interested.

Weymouth Harbour - Christopher Vaughan

I wish, as well as others, that I could've gotten to know him better. He was a great guy with a fantastic personality; gone too soon from this life.

Hello Gentlemen.

Some time ago, in the days of MM, the almighty Baker Rifle of the 95th Regiment of Foot had a bayonet.(Historically, it was 21 inches.)

When NW came around, FSe removed its bayonet, citing that it was unbalanced.

My proposal is this; return the Baker Rifle's Bayonet, reduce the number of ways it can attack to the overhead and thrusting attacks.(Although, not the ridiculous overhead it had in MM.)
Reduce the speed of its melee by such an amount that it balances out its accuracy and melee capabilities, but not so much that it cant keep up with the Bayonetted Musket.

If anything, it'll put the British Skirmishers at more of a disadvantage, as it decreases its variety of options in melee, at the cost of giving it more lethal up/down attacks.

Another point:
I support this but instead of making it slower then the infantry muskets I'd say give it just a tad less damage since infantry is supposed to be better in melee. You can blame it on that skirmishers aren't as strong as the infantry men so that they can't get the same amout of force in there attacks. :P
Potentially giving skirmishers bayonets will improve all round gameplay. How often does a line charge skirmishers who just run away if they have no support? Extremely often. Give them bayonets and skirmishers will become a more relevant fighting force not just a fly on the wall.

Or we can just give all skirmishers the ability to have bayonetted rifles(chosen in the troop selection screen), at the cost of increase load time, rifle-speed melee, decreased ways of attack, etc.

NOTICE::::::::
I spoke with Olafson on the subject of adding bayonets to the rifles.
He seemed sure that the new patch would keep the game well balanced.

He also said that there would be no more patches to NW,(unless Taleworlds makes a game-changing patch to Warband, which is, in itself, unlikely.)

The likelihood of this petition succeeding, at that moment, decreased significantly.
Despite that, im going through with this petition. FSE has been good to its player base, and I dont expect them to completely ignore a considerable amount of players gathering in support of a single change to the game.

Regiments / 1st Swedish Life Grenadiers(RECRUITING/NA)

Hey.

We're the 1st Swedish Life Grenadiers.

Join plz. lelel.

Ranks

The Swedish Armed Forces ranking system is a little funky. The ranks descend in number by the designation of OF; officers(9 through 1), and OR; Other Ranks(9 through 1), providing the regiment a potential of 18 different ranks.

For the sake of simplicity, and the fact that I dont want to be a General, we will start at Colonel. All ranks in the regiment will be displayed by their numerical value. (Ex; 1stSLG_OF-5_Tormidal)

Överste; OF-5 - The Colonel. He is the brains and administration of the regiment. He is the Samuel L. Jackson of the regiment. He is the guy that takes charges and leads the Swedish Grenadiers to eternal glory.

Överste-löjtnant; OF-4 - The Lieutenant Colonel. He's the back-up colonel. If the Colonel's brains happens to get blown all over the guy behind him, well, this is the guy that steps up to the plate and takes over, less the regiment fall into chaos.

Major; OF-3 - The Major. Honestly. I dont even know what this rank is for, other than paper work, and being a third-in-command.

Kapten; OF-2 - The Captain. A platoon leader. He leads a division of the regiment. Theres a griping chain. People gripe to him, he gripes to the major, the major gripes to the Lt Colonel. And he grips to me. The Colonel.

Löjtnant; OF-1 - The Lieutenant. For the life of me, I misspell "Lieutenant" half of the time. But he's the second-in-command of a platoon.

Regements-förvaltare; OR-9 - The Regimental Sergeant Major. He's the badass of badasses. If there's a go to guy that will charge an entire enemy line alone, and come out covered in blood and gore, then he's the guy you want.

Förvaltare; OR-8 - The Sergeant Major. He's a sergeant. And a major. Seriously, I have no idea what this rank is for.

Fankjunkare; OR-7 - The Colour Sergeant. Yeah! Carrying flags!

Förste sergeant; OR-6 - The First Sergeant. He's the first sergeant. There is no other. There can be only one.

Sergeant; OR-5 - The Sergeant. He's a sergeant. But not a first Sergeant. Yes. There's a difference. We'll find out eventually what it is.

Korpral; OR-4 - The Corporal. Damn we're getting low. He's the guy that is going to keep the line in order. The nice way. The harsh way is left to the Sergeants. Seriously. Its in their paygrade. Check the budget.

Vicekorpral; OR-3 - The "Almost a Corporal" Corporal. You're almost there, buddy. Vigilance.

Menig 1kl; OR-2 - The "Better" Private. He is the meat of the being. He is the guts of the machine. He is the bullet shield of everyone higher than him. (But dont tell him.) When you need something done right, tell these guys to do. Its their job.

Menig; OR-1 - The Private. He's the private. The new recruit. The fresh meat. Until properly trained, he is a wild beast. Unruly and undisciplined.

History
The 99th was raised in 1824 by Major-General Gage John Hall. It spent many years in Britain's colonies, before being posted to Australia, then sent to New Zealand, fighting in the Battle of Battle Hill.
In 1856, the regiment was sent back to the British Isles, spending years at various garrisons in Ireland. It was then sent to India in 1859, fighting in the Second Opium War.
It was then sent, for three years, in 1865 to South Africa. It was sent back to South Africa after going to England, to take part in the Anglo-Zulu War.
