Yes I have played aoe since I was 5, it made me who I am today which I love! I wish we could have an AoE 4. Unlikely though Ensemble Studios isn't really a thing anymore.

Ah yes. I would love to play AoM again. But it is way to expensive at the moment. It is still an old game. It just received a simple graphical overhaul. Its not worth the money. I already paid 20 euro back in the day. Won't do it a 2nd time.

Edit: sadly, i dont play it anymore, i just got back to runescape , yes runescape, i found out the old school was free so lol. Its not easy to leave runescape behind. :-X :-\ :'(

I know I'm late to the party but I must say looking at the trailer it portrays the game more like a new installment in the Rise of Nations franchise rather than a Age of Empires (AoE) game.
AoE is known for sticking to one specifik timeperiod's different stages.
But from what I'm picking up from the trailer it seems like they want to go through several time periods which is more in line with Rise of Nations than AoE.
It's an interesting direction but it isn't what have previously defined the franchise.
I mean if this is what they want to make it would make more sense to slap the Rise of Nations tag on the game instead,
but I get that AoE is a more attractive name so it makes sense from a marketing perspective.
Don't get me wrong though I like Rise of Nations too but I'd much rather have a new AoE installment than Rise of Nations 2.
If we look at the developer though I can't say I have much faith in them (Relic Entertainment) just look at how they ruined their own Dawn of War franchise & now Microsoft have entrusted them with AoE?

I'm really curious to know wherefrom you heard this.
I interpreted the trailer a bit differently; I think AoE4 will stick to one time period just like before, most of the artwork in the trailer are from its previous installments after all so I thought that maybe it's sort of a review of what's come out so far and at the end he says "and now a new age is upon us" which i guess suggests that they are setting up a new time period.
As for the developer I just hope they don't turn it into a CoH reskin heheh

I hope the game can be as fun as the previous one without any microtransactions. The previous games were so addictive. Back when I was a kid I played the crap out of those games. Hope they can live up the name and create a if not more fun game.

It was less of a trailer and more of a teaser. They just wanted to let everybody know it's coming without actually saying much about the game.
