It is what it says... Just a thread for those who have retired from the game,

It would also be nice to hear why you have retired or what made you do so.

So Imma' start off with... I retired from EU NW because I got a new job, meaning I cannot dedicate myself to attending events within the EU timezone. However I am still semi-active in NA, playing with the 30th.

The other reason why I retired is mostly because I couldn't deal with all the cancerous people and the salty 'kids' that play the game, it gets to you over time, especially when all you want to do is have fun.

|Historical Information|

The 60th (Royal American) Regiment of Foot, better known under its later name,
The King's Royal Rifle Corps, has long been associated with Canada After Braddock's defeat
by the French and Indians in 1755, authority was granted to raise a regiment of four
battalions to be recruited in Germany and from German colonists in North America.
The regiment was named the 62nd, or Royal American, Regiment of Foot; but it was
redesignated the 60th (Royal American) Regiment of Foot in February 1757. Recruiting
for the Royal Americans in North America was disappointing, and more than half its strength
was drafted from men rejected by British regiments in Ireland. From this unlikely collection
of foreigners and cast-offs was fashioned one of the most renowned corps of the British Army.

Among the officers recruited in Europe were two able Swiss soldiers, Henri Bouquet and
Frederick Haldimand, who commanded respectively the 1st and 2nd battalions of the new
regiment. Bouquet trained his battalion as light infantry, emphasizing the skills required
for forest warfare. Haldimand also adapted his European experience to war in the American wilderness.

The 1st and 4th battalions of the 60th accompanied General Abercromby's advance up
Lake Champlain in 1758, and participated in the disastrous assault on the Ticonderoga
position the following July. In November, Bouquet's 1st Battalion played a major role in
the successful advance to Fort Duquesne, which secured the western border of New
England against the incursions of France's savage Indian allies.

In 1758, the 2nd and 3rd battalions were assigned to the forces of General Amherst for
operations in eastern Canada. Both battalions were present at the capture of Louisbourg,
and moved on to Quebec with Wolfe the following year. The performance of the 60th at
Montmorency Falls on 31 July 1753 won the regimental motto Celer et Audax (Swift and
Bold) from General Wolfe.

The 2nd and 3rd battalions fought at the battle of the Plains of Abraham on 13 September
1759. The following year elements of all four battalions participated in the final advance
to Montreal.

Historical Information
Regimental Information
The regiment was sent to Egypt in 1801, capturing Fort Marabout at the entrance to Alexandria harbour. This won it a sphinx on its badge and the unique battle honour ‘Marabout’. It then returned to Gibraltar in 1802, where it was the only unit to remain loyal during a mutiny there that year. 2nd Battalion was disbanded later in 1802, but the regiment remained in Gibraltar until 1805.

In 1807 the regiment sailed for the West Indies for two years, during which it also sent a detachment on the abortive expedition to capture the Spanish territories at Buenos Aires (1807). The regiment saw no service in the Peninsula, instead spending the last five years of the Napoleonic Wars (1803-15) fighting in Swedish Pomerania (on what is now the Baltic coast of Germany and Poland), northern Germany and the Netherlands.

As part of the 4th Division it held Wellington’s right flank at Waterloo (1815), seeing no action during the battle but capturing Cambrai in its aftermath. It then joined the Army of Occupation in France for a year, before returning to Britain.
We are a relaxed and engaging regiment that wishes everyone to feel "at home" and happy with their regiment. We utilize minimal discipline techniques as we should have this as a hobby not as life.

4th Kings German Artillery are Recruiting Mature NA Players!

About Us

The 4thKGA is a US based Regiment of Artillery which welcomes NA and EU players. The 4thKGA is a disciplined, well organised Artillery Regiment, which pushes it's players to be the best they can be. Nothing in the 4thKGA is mandatory, though we expect you to show up now and again. Each member is valued and each member has a place.

History of The 4th Kings German Artillery

The King's German Legion (KGL) was a British Army unit of expatriate German personnel, 1803–16. The Legion achieved the distinction of being the only German force to fight without interruption against the French during the Napoleonic Wars.

The Legion was formed within months of the dissolution of the Electorate of Hanover in 1803, and constituted as a mixed corps by the end of 1803. Although The Legion never fought autonomously and remained a part of the British Army during the Napoleonic Wars (1804–15), it played a vital role in several campaigns, most notably the Walcheren Campaign, the Peninsular War, and the Hundred Days (1815).

The Legion was disbanded in 1816. Several of the units were incorporated into the army of the Kingdom of Hanover, and became later a part of the Imperial German Army after unification in 1871.

The British German Legion, recruited for the Crimean War, is sometimes erroneously referred to as the "King's German Legion"

|Historical Information|

On 28 June 1701, Arthur Chichester, 3rd Earl of Donegall was appointed colonel of
the regiment of foot he had raised at his own expense in the northern counties of Ireland.
The new unit was accordingly titled the Earl of Donegall's Regiment of Foot, although it was
sometimes informally known as "The Belfast Regiment", this being the place where it was first
embodied. This was the second Earl of Donegall's Regiment: the previous regiment was raised
in 1693 and disbanded on 8 February 1697: despite the names there was no lineal connection
 between them.

The regiment was raised to meet the threat of war with France, but was also a strongly Protestant
unit tasked with resisting the spread of Roman Catholicism in Britain. The king, William of Orange,
gave special permission for the regiment to bear orange facings to show their religious allegiance
and as a mark of royal favour.

Community / 23rd Royal Welch Fusiliers Are Looking For a 2iC
« on: June 11, 2015, 10:54:07 pm »
As some of you know i haven't really had the best "NW community" Image, and may of stirred up some shizz, but i really am preaching out to those who may be interested in becoming my new 2iC. I really do not want to disband this regiment, however without the moral support of a Reliable 2iC that date is almost imminent. We have recently lost our 3iC due to him finding NW boring now, and we have also lost our 2iC due to real life working. Wow.

If you are interested in becoming the 2iC, here are some of the qualities you need:
- Confidence (Don't ever doubt yourself(the last time i had a 2iC that doubted himself, he ended up disbanding the regiment))
- Reliability (Can i rely on you if i have dinner)
- Leadership
- Good-sense-of-humor
- Fun but firm
- Good with morale-raising speeches
- Experience leading

Please no trolls on this, i am not trying to waste neither mine or your time.
