If you guys haven't noticed, they like disbanding to make regimental threads. That's my assumption.

With the current person leading the USA, this country is going to shit.

Looks exactly like NW.

UK had the best trained and quality troops, in my opinion (excluding their cavalry, of course ::)).

I never said it was smart, only that I wished upon it.

Napoleonic, my first would be the Marins de la Garde. However, McEwan took them. My second favorite are the 3e Grenadiers-a-Pied de la Garde Imperiale "Old Guard Grenadiers"
THe guy who painted these desveres kudos. Insane detail.

Now, as for American Civil War, my favorite would have to be the 33rd New Jersey Volunteers, 2nd Zouaves "Mindl's Zouaves."
The wore exquisite Americanized Zouave uniforms.

Lol 3eme wore the white uniforms. They where bad ass uniforms, though.

I wish the USA should keep to themselves like George Washington said.

United Kingdom, Great Britain, England. The fact that some people think that all these are the same annoys the shit out of me.

United Kingdom- England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland.
Great Britain- The island including England, Wales, and Scotland.
England- Country.

Make it UK rather then Britain?

Community / Re: Ranks of the British Army 1802-1815
« on: February 09, 2013, 06:56:51 pm »
I have been researching Napoleonic Era Ranks for new Regiments. Here is what I found in some records:

Col- Colonel
Lt. Col.- Lieutenant Colonel
Maj.- Major

Capt.- Captain (Replaced by Cpt during the 1970s)
Lieut- Lieutenant: This rank is commonly misconviced as Lt due to unofficial sources having Lt used. According to HM's Official Guide and Soldiers Manual of the British Army 1800, the official designation was in fact Lieut. It was changed to Lt on introduction of the Royal Flying Corps due to Flight Lieutenant's Abbreviaition being too long. Original: Fli. Lieut. Changed to: Fli. Lt.
Ens.- Ensign. Renamed to 2Lt following the Boer War.

RSM- Regimental Serjeant/Sergeant Major. Assists the Regimental Headquaters.
Sjt./Sgt. Maj.-  Serjeant/Sergeant Major of the Battalion, changed to CSM pre WWI
CSjt/CSgt. Colour Serjeant/Sergeant. Guarded to Ensign and Colours. Renamed to Staff Sergeant post WWI.
Sjt./Sgt.- Serjeant/Sergeant.
Cpl.- Coporal.
LCpl.- Lance Coporal. Choosen Man was also used, but was a DESIGNATION rather than a RANK.

Pte.- Private

(No ranks were officially below Private-Recruit is a Designation)

Recruits were known by the rank of Private.
There is already a thread like yours but with much more factions, look harder before making useless posts.
