Ranker, King's German Legion

Introduction The 3te Königlich Deutsche Legion [3rd King's German Legion] is a unit for Napoleonic Wars that has been active since 30th March 2017. Consistent of mostly ex-members of the 58th Regiment of Foot [Jan-Jun 2016] and the regiments that followed it, the 9th Royal Marines [Jul-Nov 2016] and the 54e Regiment d'ligne [Nov-May 2017]. We have a good balance of young bloods and seasoned veterans, each on different skill levels, and welcome all who are looking to join a contemporary unit who are ages 13 and up, no matter the skill level. We welcome both North American and European members, as we aspire to soon have strong EU and NA companies. We also allow future members a choice between being an enlisted member, whom are active and must attend 8 events per month, and a reserve member, who come as they please, but must attend 1 event per month to be allowed in the regiment. As a regiment, our policy is one of balance. When outside of events, there must be a balance of seriousness and leniency - when you are wearing the tags of the 3teKDL on public servers, give us a good name - Play hard and have a good time, but do not argue, insult, and give us, and yourself a bad name. Remember to recruit to help the regiment grow. So too in events and trainings must we balance fun and seriousness - When we are in the line we must be obedient, quiet, and attentive; However, we must equally try our best and have a good time when we play. We also attend North and South on occasion, so please have the North and South module installed. Historical Overview The King's German Legion (KGL) was a British Army unit of mostly expatriate German personnel during the period 1803–16. The Legion achieved the distinction of being the only German force to fight without interruption against the French during the Napoleonic Wars. The Legion was formed within months of the dissolution of the Electorate of Hanover in 1803 and constituted as a mixed corps by the end of 1803. Although The Legion never fought autonomously and remained a part of the British Army during the Napoleonic Wars (1804–15), it played a vital role in several campaigns, most notably the Walcheren Campaign, the Peninsular War, and the Hundred Days (1815). The Legion was disbanded in 1816. Several of the units were incorporated into the army of the Kingdom of Hanover, and became later a part of the Imperial German Army after unification in 1871. The British German Legion, recruited for the Crimean War, is sometimes erroneously referred to as the "King's German Legion". Battle Honors: Castilla (1813), St Etienne (1814)

Organisation of the Regiment For the time being, the regiment will be consistent solely of a Line Company, which is the "Soldaten". The Reserve Company, "Reserviere" is for members who cannot attend frequently, but who still wish to partake in the regiment's events. The Kadetten is the company of Cadets, who require more training to further their promotions. In future, if we have enough members, we will integrate Cavalry, Light, and Artillery companies. Trainings and Promotions As shown in the schedule at the bottom of the page, trainings in the 3te are held weekly every Monday at 8PM on our server, NA_Deathmatch, which aside from our usage is public - I highly suggest you recruit there. Promotions are awarded as deserved, however there is a baseline number of events you must reach based on the rank you are attempting to attain.

About the Brigade

Introduction and History
The Tercio Irlanda is a forthcoming, history-oriented, intercontinental, and co-operative band of 3 regiments for Mount and Blade: Warband: Napoleonic Wars and in future, Holdfast: Nations at War. The so-called "Tercio Irlanda" was indeed an actual brigade within Spain's "Ejercito de Tierra" (lit. Ground Army) that consisted of 3 primary regiments of Irish descent within the army which were the Regimento Irlanda (mustered 1698), Regimento Hibernia (mustered 1709) and the Regimento Ultonia (mustered 1709). All 3 of the aforementioned regiments were consistent, originally, of entirely Irish soldiers who were hired during the Spanish War of Succession by the Spanish Army as hired soldiers for their already battered army. In wake of the Flight of the Earls and the Penal Laws charged to the Irish people, many soldiers were indeed available and thus, the Spanish Army created out of those soldiers 3 distinct regiments.

At the time of the Napoleonic Wars all three of these Irish infantry regiments still formed part of the Spanish army. Heavy losses and recruiting difficulties diluted the Irish element in these units, although the officers remained of Irish ancestry. The Hibernia Regiment had to be reconstituted with Galician recruits in 1811 and ended the war as an entirely Spanish corps. All three regiments were finally disbanded in 1818 on the grounds that insufficient recruits, whether Irish or other foreigners, were forthcoming.

Structure
In the TI for Napoleonic Wars, we too will consist of the historical 3 regiments, Hibernia, Ultonia, and Irlanda. The first of which is already an established NA regiment led by Bluenoseyy. The 2nd of which will be Ultonia which will likely be either a Light Infantry regiment or be another Line Infantry regiment within North America. The 3rd and final regiment will be Irlanda, which will be a European-based regiment that will be a mixture of the European and North American players from both of the aforementioned regiments as well as a possible other regiment if a merger is available.

Goals
Our goal as a brigade will be twofold: the first and most important priority is to have fun as a community. It is often said that "the more the merrier", and indeed, a community of flourishing historical and in-game regiments could pan out to be immensely fun not only for the players within it, but for the community on the whole.

Second, as a brigade, we will work together as one larger unit. Using Teamspeak's whisper list function, we will work cooperatively on the same servers to create a larger battle plan for success every round and enjoy a new realm of depth and realism in Napoleonic Wars events.

Bluenoseyy FSE Forum Page Attendance per Event: 6-12 The Regiment of Hibernia was a famed regiment of the Spanish Army, a part of the larger group of the Spanish "Tercio Irlanda", along with the Regiment of Ultonia and Regiment of Irlanda. The regiment was originally established in 1709 when Irishmen fled the country following their Earls who had left Ireland after King James I became king. Due to Spain's inability to supply their own army well because of man shortages from the plague and from previous wars, they often had approached the Irish based on their reputation as soldiers. Having seen battle during the Spanish War of Succession, and had tours in Brazil, Ceuta, and even in West Florida fighting against the Brits in the Gulf Coast, the battle hardened lads in Spanish service continued into the 19th century for a good 18 years before disbanding in 1818 at the requests of the British, considering Ireland was now formally part of Britain after the 1800 Act of Union.
