Match Rules

Rules

- Players should respect both the letter and the spirit of the rules. Common sense should always be applied, regardless of the situation.
- Players must be respectful on the Cavalry Champions League subboard and servers. Every participant is advised to refrain from using language that is obscene, foul, vulgar, insulting, abusive, slanderous, defamatory or otherwise offensive. If someone consistently shows a poor attitude towards other participants within the tournament, whether in game or on the sub board, will find themselves being punished by the tournament administration. There is a three strikes policy: the first incident will result in a warning, the second incident will bar the offender from playing in their next match, and the third incident will see the offender removed from the tournament.
- While the Cavalry Champions League administration intends to condemn the aforementioned behaviours, we would also like to remind our participants that they are capable of muting players in-game, on the forums and on steam but are not necessarily punishable by the tournament administration.
- During a match, the referee can forbid the use of all-chat, at his own discretion if they deem it necessary to do so. From that point forward, only referees, regiment leaders and admins can use that chat.
- In order to ensure the referee can pursue his job in the best conditions possible, all communication done via all-chat must be in English, so that the referee can control the interactions between players and make sure they fit the aforementioned rules.
- Any player that incites, participates in or attempts to disrupt matches, practice sessions or organisation of other regiments will be barred from playing in their next match as punishment for a first offence and removed
from the tournament in the event of a second offence. Regiments engaged in such actions could face similar punishments.

Cheating

- It is strictly prohibited to gain an advantage by using game modifications, cheats, or hacks such as texture replacers/recolours, or autoblock. Every player that is found to have modified texture files or caught cheating in other ways will be banned from the tournament.
- Exceptions from the aforementioned rule are as follows; any modifications which alter a cosmetic aspect of the game (such as uniforms) but doesn't help to gain an advantage over your opponents. If doubt remains on whether a certain modification is allowed or not, the administration must be reached for approval.
- If a player is found to have cheated in any of these ways during a match then that player's regiments will forfeit the match.

Tournament Format

- The second season of the Cavalry Champions League will play out using two leagues, with the regiments being split based on their respective skill level. This is in an effort to attract newer, or less skilled regiments to partake in the tournament, and giving said regiments the opportunity to fight other regiments with similar performance.
- Each regiment will fight each other once, in their respective leagues with each league having it's own champion, technically meaning there will be two winners.
- The number of regiments is limited to eight in both league 1 and league 2. The spots are granted following an invitational system.
- Once regiments have played their first official match as a certain class, they have to stick with it for the remainder of the tournament. This class can only be Heavy Cavalry or Hussars.

Points distribution

- Points are awarded as follows; match win - 3 points, match draw - 1 Point, match loss - 0 points.

Scheduling

- All matches must be scheduled and played within one week of the tournament administration announcing it.
- If a regiment faces difficulties to organize their match, they must contact a member of the administration before the deadline given for their match scheduling.
- During the event, regiments are expected to play one match per week. If a regiment fails to organize/play their match within the time frame given to them, then they must provide evidence of a good-faith attempt to schedule their match. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the match. If both regiments have shown no attempts to schedule their match, both will be applied the forfeiture of said match.
- If a regiment is found guilty of not putting enough effort into scheduling their matches properly, they might be facing warnings, followed by punishments.

Maps & Nations

- Every CCL official match has to be played on the official CCL map.
- Regiments are free to pick the nation which they prefer. One match cannot be played with the same two factions. In the case of two regiments picking the same faction, the regiment appearing on the left of the fixtures will have the choice of the faction.

Regiment Rosters

- Every regiment must provide the tournament administration with a roster consisting of the player community nicknames and their respective in-game GUIDs at least 24 hours before their first match. Players that are not listed with a regiment (with a GUID/nickname) are not eligible to play in the tournament.
- Regiments may make changes to their roster (players addition or removal) during the whole duration of the competition.
- Players who have participated in a match with a CCL regiment, will then be locked into playing for that regiment only, for the duration of the tournament.

Multi Clanning

- It is strictly prohibited for a player to play or have played for more than one regiment participating in the CCL regardless of what league they are in. If a player is found to be on the roster of more than one regiment participating in the CCL then that player will be ejected from the tournament. Regiments that were complicit and knowingly allowed a player from another CCL regiment to play for them will be punished accordingly.

Match Server

- All matches must be played on dedicated CCL servers. It is not allowed to play an official tournament match on another server unless a tournament administrator gives permission to do so, or the official CCL servers are not available. Note: If the official CCL servers are not available for whatever reason, out of courtesy we, the tournament organizers, would expect to be informed about it. Regiments that fail to do so will not have their match recognized by the tournament.
- Regiments who booked a server at least one hour before their match are given priority over everyone else, so make sure to request the server in your match schedule application.

Referees

- Referees are mandatory for official matches. Requests for a referee can be made to the administration by either regimental leaders while booking their match.
- During the match, the referee's decision is final.
- It is allowed to be both an official referee of the tournament and a player with the exception that such people cannot be a referee of their own match(es) unless allowed by the administration or if a neutral referee is unavailable.
- The administrators of the CCL reserve itself the right to impose the choice of the referee on a specific match if they deem it necessary.
- The referee is responsible for posting the match result, and providing a screenshot to go with it.

Gathering Players

- Both regiments have a grace period of 10 minutes after the agreed match start time to gather their players in the server. If a regiment fails to turn up with the minimum requirement for their respective league [10 - League 1 | 8 - League 2] 10 minutes after the agreed match start, the other regiment will be awarded a default win. If a regiment agrees to wait longer than 10 minutes for their opponent to finish gathering players, then they may wait up to 10 additional minutes, totaling 20 minutes with the extension. If their opponent has still not gathered enough players, then an admin must be notified and a default win will be awarded.
- Regiments are not obligated to wait more than 3 minutes between rounds and are allowed to enforce a restart and live after these periods of waiting.

Player Names, Tags & ID

- Players must play with the name they are signed up under in the regiment roster.
- Players must wear their regiment tag during official matches.
- Players must have the same unique Player ID that is on their roster. A player caught using multiple IDs will be ejected from the tournament, and any group of players that are caught sharing an ID will all be ejected from the tournament.

Match Format

- Each match consists of 10 rounds played on 1 map (BO10). There is no swap-side or swap-nation. Every 10 rounds have to be played.
- Wall-hugging, tree-hugging or map-edge hugging is not permitted. The decent space as to not be considered to be breaking this rule is left at the discretion of the referee.
- Picking-up horses or swords from your opponents, as well as dismounting at any time during the match, is allowed.
- The referee is the one ensuring a screenshot is taken at the end of the match.

Spectators

- Spectators from both regiments are always allowed.
- External spectators [players that do not belong to either regiment] have to ask for permission from both captains to spectate the match and the referee must be aware of it.
- Tournament administrators & Referees do not need permission to spectate a game.

Substitutions & Balancing

- Substitutions are only allowed between each round, without restrictions.
- Teams should be balanced perfectly, meaning there will be no +1 allowed if one regiment has more than the other. The only exception to this rule is if the other regiment fails to bring the required amount for their respective league, meaning if a League 1 regiment only brings 9, the opposing regiment can still play with the minimum of 10. A regiment cannot play more than 2 less of the minimum requirement, meaning a League 1 regiment can not play with 7, and a League 2 regiment can not play with 5.

Media

- All matches may be streamed/recorded freely by any of the players spectating.
