Regiments / 91st (Argyllshire Highlanders) Regiment of Foot[EU]
« on: December 21, 2017, 04:32:48 am »

Ne Obliviscaris

History

The 91st Regiment was officially formed in 1793 by John Campbell 5th Duke of Argyll.  However it had been formed and disbanded three times prior to this date from 1759.  The Regiment was initially numbered as the 98th Argyllshire Highlanders but renumbered as the 91st in 1798.  The Regiment was first in action in South Africa to capture the Cape of Good Hope from the Dutch and remained garrisoned there for 7 years.  In 1808 the Regiment was deployed to Portugal and acted as a rear guard action against Napoleon’s Army during the evacuation of Corunna which signalled the start of the Peninsular War.  The 91st was then deployed on the unsuccessful Walcheren Campaign before returning to Spain to fight at the Battles of Vittoria, Sorauren, Nivelle and Bayonne as well as at the Battle of Toulouse which ended the Peninsular war in 1814.  In 1871 Queen Victoria’s fourth daughter Princess Louise married John Campbell, Marques of Lorne, and heir to the Duke of Argyll.  The 91st provided the Guard of Honour at the wedding and in 1872 Princes Louise became their Colonel-in-Chief. In recognition of this the Regiment was renamed the 'Princess Louise's Argyllshire Highlanders'.  The Regiment then moved to Inverness on its first Scottish tour of duty in 80 years and then returned to South Africa during the Zulu Wars 1879.

In 1881 during the Childers Reforms the 91st were amalgamated with the 93rd (Sutherland Highlanders) Regiment of Foot becoming the 1st Battalion, Princess Louise's Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.

Competitive NA Events/Tournaments / Chef Tagpro League

What is Tagpro?

The objective of the game requires you and your teammates to work together and bring the enemy team's flag back to your own flag to score points. Everyone's a ball that rolls around trying to do this and people can pop each other and we know it sounds stupid but trust us it's great

Introduction

As opposed to NANWL, this will be good. I wish for there to be lots of halfway decent times and some decent times with a few good ones sprinkled throughout. Some times may result in juicy, juicy drama but that does not mean that you people should become bumbling, window lickers. Have fun and don't be too terrible!

Now to the part where I tell you about the format. It's gonna be a standard league. So round robin. Maybe a little different in the fact that there will be a play off. Now some of you are going to be complaining that the league doesn't really matter. Well that's where you are wrong. The league sort of matter because it determins who you play. 1st seed will play 4th seed and 2nd will play the 3rd or something to that effect. This is for a one League system. So if we have above a certain number, like 12ish we will have to form a separate league/division thing. If above like 16ish or so, this has to be ironed out, top 8 will get into the end of league tournament to determine the champion of the world. You guys get how it is.

The start date is June 5th.

Rules

Spoiler
  • No shooting while charging or while you are out of formation. Officers, and only officers, may fire their pistol while in melee. However, they may not reload.
  • Reloading out of line is against the rules.
  • No shooting while in melee. A melee is where one bayonet or sword from either line strikes the player or weapon of the opposing team.
  • No officer aim. Punishment for officer aim can vary from a slay to reset depending on the importance of the officer. If you are leading the line but not an officer class then slays or OA resets will not be given.
  • Officers that are clearly charging are fair game!
  • Regular line infantry only! No skirmishers, light infantry, sailors, or guard infantry
  • No bonuses, musicians, or flag bearers.
  • Filling in gaps while in a firefight is not mandatory. However, there can be no spacing when you first line up.
  • Both leaders have to agree on the map.
  • 10 rounds will be played. After the 5th round, sides will be swapped.
  • Only 'Random x Medium' maps with low vegetation are to be used.
  • A referee needs to be present at every match
  • At the beginning of the round, the difference in numbers may only be ONE man.
  • Each regiment will have 1 week to complete their match. If an extension is needed, contact a moderator or post on this thread.
  • If a regiment does not appear on the scheduled time, they will forfeit the match.
  • Invites and mercenaries are not allowed!
  • Having members that are in 2 or more regiments, which are apart of the premier league, is against the rules! Those people who are in multiple regiments will be banned and if the regiments knowingly accepted someone from another regiment just so as to play the person, they can be banned too! European and Australian players are allowed.
  • If regiments are tied with wins and losses than the regiment with the most rounds won is ahead of the other.
  • The results of a match will be posted here.
  • If a regiment has a complaint, they must supply proof (video or screenshot)
  • Both the referees and opposing regiments should be treated with respect. If there was a problem, please file a complaint AFTER the match.
  • Regiments will provide us with a complete roster of their players.  This way we can insure that the players you're playing are really yours and we don't have trolls and double reggers in the match.
  • Only those on the roster can play
  • Temporary match bans may be given when a regiment experiences a large influx of players. For example, if a regiment disbands and all their members then join a different reg, those players may receive a 2 game ban .
  • A regiment has to field a minimum of 10 men. If a regiment cannot then they are allowed to continue but the opposing regiment is allowed to field 11 men.
(Ex. If a re has 8 people then the opposing regiment can field 11)
  • A regiment cannot willingly drop members of their regiment to force the opposing regiment to drop their members.
(ex. A regiment has 20 people. They drop 5 forcing the opposing regiment to drop 5.)
  • A regiment can only stay on a hill for 2 minutes unless they are actively engaging the enemy. This does not mean that they are shooting across the map at the enemy.
