So I've decided to reread the Dunk and Egg trilogy again. For those who haven't read it and liked reading the main story, definitely look into it. It's pretty great.

Dunk and Egg adds a lot to the ASoIaF timeline and universe, and it's still an ongoing story, with at least one book (I think) on its way. It's a way more personal story, too, I feel more invested with the characters of Dunk and Egg than any other ASoIaF character, I think.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but are trying to say that Longclaw is actually Blackfyre in disguise, because a generation lasts 100 years? That still makes no sense. We have a good idea of where Blackfyre is, Aegor Bittersteel kept it with him in Essos during all Blackfyre invasions--he didn't even let the sons of Daemon that he was trying to put on the throne have it in case they were captured--so there's no reason he would give it to a random house with no affiliation to the Blackfyres way up north for safekeeping but allow it to be reforged and given a different appearance. Sure, it matches the "Jon is really a Targaryen hehe" thing KINDA, but not really.

Just in case you're the one who's misunderstanding this, the Mormonts have held Longclaw since about 500 years before the books' start. Blackfyre arrived in Westeros only 300-400 years before the books' start. Blackfyre only was given to Daemon Blackfyre about ~100 years before the books' start.

And no, Bloodraven did not lie. That would be retarded. Bloodraven doesn't want to give any legitimacy to the Blackfyres by saying "well, they DO wield the sword," and Bloodraven couldn't take the sword from Aegor Bittersteel during Redgrass Field.
 Aegor is the last confirmed owner of the sword, and as people who want to reclaim their lost titles in Westeros, the leaders of the Golden Company would definitely keep the sword protected and hidden if that means they can put a Blackfyre on the throne with the sword as a sign of legitimacy.
