Using a group is a bad indicator for interest.

If it was organised, date, time, signups, etc I'm sure it'd have well than enough interest.

It was organised, for the 1st but obviously nobody showed up.

Using a group is the perfect way for finding out how many would want to attend? "Join the group if you want to play", then nobody joined.
