I don't mind, as long as he agrees to not give up on his nation when things get rough.

I'd rather not owing to how he can be a bit of a wanker.
Even duct tape can't fix stupid. But it can muffle the sound.

And what is the GiG going to do? It's a "government" sitting somewhere far away without population and influence.

its the government most countries recognize. I recommend re reading this Ted

German Civil War
"Whites" and "Reds". That is what one outspoken German cartoonist described Germany's two warring factions as. With the 2nd revolution that occurred in Germany, ending in the full takeover of the government by hard line Communist forces, Germany appears to be on the brink of civil war. The "Reds", being slang for Communists, are the popular group with Germany's lower and working class. Sailors, enlisted men, farmers, factory workers, and the common man all clamor and yell for change and reform. The "Whites" represent the opposition, the loyalists & moderates. Supporters of the GIG are mainly composed of the upper classes of German society. Landed nobles, wealthy business men, admirals and generals, diplomats and statesmen. Both sides consolidate and reform, eagerly awaiting the time of judgement when the fate of Germany will rest on the shoulders of men and be earned with their blood.

The Reds appear to be in the best position right now. Being the popular front, they have support from the masses and the common man. Scores of troops line up for a people's Germany, with hopes high of reforms to work, diplomacy, and wages. "Peace in Europe" is chanted throughout the masses. The common man only wants change, and for now it appears the Communist ideology is the only way for the people to make said change.

The Whites appear to be in the worst possible position right now, however it is to be expected. Always being in danger from persecution from the Reds, the upper classes of Germany's society flee all over Europe. Some flee to Denmark, Austria, and Britain, seeking asylum via connections or money. Others go abroad, using their wealth to flee to far away countries like Argentina, the United States of America, and Brazil. Few people support, or even know of the GIG in Britain. Many more view the GIG as simply a puppet state created by the Anglo-Saxons as a way to subdue Germany. Some however, think otherwise. Despite not gaining support of the actual army or navy, small groups of troops, politicians, and rich slowly converge on London in an effort to combat the Red threat. Admirals, high ranking officers, noblemen and even members of the Royal Dynasty have made it to Great Britain. Among them are the late Kaiser's son, Crown Prince, now head of the house Hohenzollern, Wilhelm III. With the support of powerful, albeit few, people & the nations of Europe, the GIG looks to become a force to be reckoned with.

The GIG however, despite it's relatively short life, already faces a plethora of problems. Some in the GIG wish for a democracy, while others call for a republic. Others wish for the full restoration of the Monarchy like it was before the war. Some, acting on the whims of unknown nations, bicker and quarrel with each other on who to follow, and what should be done. The GIG, as of now, is a mess. No clear goal is in mind, and no plan is to be had. With few ships and little to no army, the GIG might be dead from the start if it does not get its act together.

The Communists of Germany do not have it easy either. With no support from the international community save for fellow communist nations, a multi-front war may be inevitable. Despite having support of the people, who can say for how long that support will last?

With both sides preparing for what looks to be true civil war, the only thing certain is that Germany will never be the same.

I've read this ages ago. And as far as I see the GiG has done everything wrong it was able to do wrong over the last weeks: It sat far away in Great Britain trying to break off wars while the DDR managed to solve two crisis peacefully and stabilized the country.

I underestimated the number of battles there are this update. I'm still updating them even now. The casualties are... catastrophic.
