Title: Who serves where?
Post by: Stasiulek on February 24, 2017, 09:38:25 pm: Hello guys. I'm a napoleonic reenactor from Poland. I reenact 12pp. It will be awesome for me to meet some other reenactors form napoleonic regiments here. Mabye we'll meet in the battlefield in the future. Just post here in which regiments do you serve. Mabye we'll be able to meet in any reenactment. ;)

Oh. I remember you regiment quite well. From Waterloo 2015. ;)

Don't know the exact events I will atend this year, but if i remember correctly, the 12pp were mostly in Leipzig and sometimes in Großgörschen (Bataille de Lutzen) in the past years.

A polish column destroyed us in La Haye Sainte, Waterloo 2015. There I changed buttons with one polish guy who had a 7 on his buttons.
Also I've been in Glatz/Klodzko last year but there were just a few good reenactors and a lot of chaos guys ;D

Then I also reenact mostly in Germany/Netherlands:
Napoleonic: 85eme french (1806,1810,1815), Prussian ostpreußische landwehr, Douanier Imperiales.
WW1: French, WW2: American, ACW: Union, 80years war (or 30 depending who you ask); Dutch Frysian pikemen.

I know Remik from 33e. He was in 12pp for a long time. I saw you in Heilsberg I think. Might we'll meet there this year.

Well. We thought about something in Netherlands. Also have some intitations to France. I think we'll focus on Leipzig, mabye Grossbeeren Grossgorschen. Also there are some events in Poland and Czech like Znojmo or Goldberg, Heilsberg and Raszyn.

Post by: joer5835 on March 04, 2017, 11:14:22 pm: It depends on what you want from Almelo. If you want a true immersive event on a historical location, you won't find it in Almelo. Heck, you won't find that in 75% of events in the Netherlands because of our post-war obsession with demolishing everything and building new houses on it (Wavre in Belgium is also infamous for that. I don't think I have ever seen a building built before the 1950s there). But if you want something fun with a decently sized skirmish/battle and a busy, cozy campsite then Almelo is really good.

I enjoyed it in 2015. Just be aware what you're getting into.

Yeah, okay. That's fair enough. If you want a more immersive event in terms of location in the Netherlands this year, I hear good things about Roosendael this august.

I am realy looking forward to Göhrde this year in September. A nice location and always a very active battle on Saturday (fighting and moving through the streets of a very small villiage and then reaching the main battlefield). Stralsund (also September) might be fun too. I think the reenactment won't be that great but there seems to be a small Streetfight. But I mostly like to go there because I love the town and you don't do a bivouac just next to the baltic sea often ::)

Well, I'm exactly from eastern Pommerania. I live in Danzig or Gdańsk. Never thought about those two reenactments. ;)

Göhrde is kind of small (about 200 men on the battlefield I would say) but always fun. Last time the moving fight before entering the main battlefield sadly was canceled due to bad weather - so we just had two "normal" battles on saturday and sunday. I don't know if it will be worth the long journey...
