I didn't have the chance to address some of the stuff which has been said on this thread but some people probably ignore that:
- Gi has been trying to get a proper 1v1 LB competition set-up for ages, with well-known and trustworthy hosts. We exchanged about it back during the EIC, again just before and after the announcement of Kaide's NWWC and after the announcement that it was cancelled. He wants to have something well-organized and worth being remembered as one of the last competitions of NW so you can't blame him for going straight to the point while sharing his fears/concerns when it comes to this Regimental 1v1 League because it's been now several occasions that he let other people rush projects & announcements, with the results we know.
- With that being said, Stockholm has been very careful with the preparation of his event, he asked advice to several people, gathered as many opinions as possible, especially from regimental leaders and tried to prepare this as best as it could. Obviously, having someone stepping-in as the main host of an event with no prior international hosting experience is a risk and I have my doubts about it as well.
In an ideal world, I had rather prefer all these people (Stockholm, GI, and others) to join forces and host an event together to gain in credibility and provide more guarantees. But we all know it won't happen for a variety of reason. I just hope everything goes well for this event because I don't think the regimental community can really afford another last-minute cancel or a poorly organized competition.
