Applications are open!
The Napoleonic Wars Admin team have their roots in the old MM Mod. A team of Professional and mature Players, that strive to make sure that the official servers are well looked after.Applications are open!
We are looking for Mature and respected community members to help run the NW_Official servers (US/EU).
Admins are required to be active and have a neutral standing in all situations and look for the best outcome for the community.
A successful Applicant must follow the server rules at all times, while also adhering to the admin rules.
Once accepted a 2 week trial period will commence where your performance will be evaluated.
Only successful applicants will be responded to by pm or steam by MrTiki (for EU) or Thunderstormer (for US). This can take 1-4 weeks (or longer) to process.
Applications will be accepted on the fly and there is no set closing date for applications.
Applications are open to anyone. We will not announce when candidates are being selected for trials; they will be informed by PM only.

Should this happen, and we find ourselves with a fully featured AOE2 conversion for steam, I would go nuts. Even more if it came with a way to connect over steam for internet games. Some of the best news in gaming I've heard in a bit, which si surprising given that if I truly wanted to I could play this game right now. xD

Several weeks ago xPaw and Marlamin of steamdb.info parsed all of the Steam Game Hub's for the unknown "ValveTestApps" one application in particular was very interesting: ValveTestApp221380, codenamed "Kaos" which is part of the Microsoft Games Studio package / sub has the Hub icon of AoE2 The Conquers.

That's several races from the game mentioned in that list, I think it's safe to assume these are relevant to AoE2.

1) This thread is for community concerns.
That means that when you post, it shouldn't be something like "When is the next patch coming out?" or anything of that ilk. It should be relevant to the well-being of the NW Community, and something which affects the players themselves.
2) This thread is for questions, not discussion.
If someone asks a question, please do not respond to it yourself. This thread is for asking the question or displaying the grievance. Once you do so the representatives will decide whether to discuss it further. Once it is discussed we will publish the results of the discussion in a manner yet to be formed but forthcoming. Do not spam a question in order to gain a response, if it has been deemed a useful question the response will be forthcoming. The moderators will closely be watching this thread, and will dispense warnings liberally in order to keep it on task.
3) You may ask any question, as long as you truly want an answer.
We will try to look into any question posted here that merits the discussion. Please do not ask for something that has already been discussed unless new events have caused it to be appropriate. We will soon be posting a list of what is being discussed, and what has been discussed. We ask that you look at that list before posting your question.
4) Try to keep your posts to the point, and don't post anything that is offensive, malicious, or hawkish.
Hyperbole is not a desired element. If you have a question you want discussed, make it to the point. A post seething with rage abut perceived injustices and anecdotal evidence will not press forth the importance of your topic any more than a short, concise explanation would.

Hey Everyone,
Today is the day. Each person will get 1 vote, make sure to use it wisely. Also, who you vote for will be public, so the administrators can better watch for potential abuses. After seven days we will take the top ten players with the most votes and give them access to the new area. We will repeat this process in the future, although the interval has not yet been determined.
Some tips for those voting and not sure who exactly they want to vote for. I would say take a look at a perspective persons post history, warnings, and apparent status within the community. Make sure that they best represent yourself and who you would want to see argue for you in the position.
Please use this thread from now on to discuss the ongoing elections.
Good luck to the representatives, I look forward to seeing who the community will decide best represents them!

1. A re-election will occur every 2 months.
2. You are allowed to vote once.
3. You will be able to see the results after the voting has ended but rest assured that we will be monitoring the elections.
4. We will take daily screenshots of the voting, to be posted at the end of the election.
5. Anyone caught trying to rig the election by creating duplicate accounts will be banned immediately.

Official Servers Bans & Unbans / Format for Ban and Unban Requests. READ before you post.

As you can imagine, we get a lot of requests to have people banned or unbanned, in order for these to be dealt with quickly, it is critical that they are written up in a manner that allows us to sort through them quickly and concisely. This is the format that you should be following:
Servers
Please note that whilst much of the community congregates on this site, we can only guarantee that requests from the official servers(NW_Official_NA1 or NW_Official_EU1) will be tended to. In the event of a request for another server or server group, we will try and make sure the relevant administration knows, but you will be better off attempting to contact them directly. With most servers, that means finding their thread in the server board located here. https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?board=24.0
Find their thread and do as they say to be unbanned, if they allow unbans.
Unban request
In the event you are banned from our servers(NW_Official_NA1 and/or NW_Official_EU1) for a period longer than 1 hour (which is the length of a temporary ban) you can make a thread(new topic) on this forum requesting the ban is lifted. You will need the following details:
*To find your User ID, simply follow the guide found Here
When you have posted these details in your thread, leave it alone for a while and hopefully within a day or two our staff will have gotten around to dealing with it. You may be asked to provide more information on what you were doing, an admin may be called in to explain in greater detail why they banned you and you may be unbanned immediately or after a punishment duration decided upon by the staff.
Make sure that in your thread you remain courteous, avoid getting into fights with other posters and try to keep a level head so we can deal with the situation as quickly and efficiently as possible. If you are not the person making the appeal, an admin, a witness or myself, then don't post in the thread, it reflects badly on whoever is interrupting and only makes the senior admins job more difficult.
And above all, make sure you are not spamming the threads or the forum in order to have your own case looked at more promptly. We try to deal with all cases within 2-3 days, occasionally one falls through the gaps and a bump is warranted. However, creating more threads or bumping when not needed is something which can lead to a ban being lengthened, so don't be tempted.(This includes PM)
In the very rare chance you are banned from the FSE teamspeak, you can make an unban request here. Just put in FSE teamspeak where it asks what server you are banned from.
Ban request
If you see someone misbehaving seriously and not being dealt with by an admin, you can post on this forum to request that they be log banned, which involves banning someone even if they are no longer on the server. Make sure to include:
As with unbans we try to deal with these with 1-2 days but a certain delay can be expected. Typically speaking, only the more serious offenses will warrant a log ban, and whilst we have sympathy for anyone who is team-killed by someone who does a runner, its not particularly wise for us to consider log banning someone for such an offense. Racial or homophobic slurs, streaks of team-killing and team wounding, cheating or glitching, abuse of map mechanics and other more problematic offenses are the kind of thing that will receive a log ban. If you want to appeal a log ban, make your unban request as above and post a link to the original ban request.
Complaints
Naturally the administration of any server is bound to have problems and upsets, in which case you are free to contact any of the EU Senior admins: MrTiki, Cenzii; NA Senior admins: Thunderstormer, LittleGuy directly via private message. The usual procedure for PM's remains; stay courteous and level headed, explain clearly what lead you to complain and include relevant times and dates. Bring any relevant evidence along when filing your complaint. If you have any complaints about a Senior Administrator; contact Vincenzo.
New User Corollary
When a person is banned, for whatever reason, I regard their persona as banned and do not expect to see them frequenting our servers or teamspeak any longer. However, as Napoleonic Wars is quite a fun game, I abide by a simple maxim when it comes to buying a new copy of it. That is, if you buy a new copy of the game, with a new name, no ties to your previous persona, you will not be pursued for any actions you committed previously - only the most egregious violations being exempt from this. In short, if you get permanently banned, buy a new CD-Key, get a new name and don't dwell on what you did previously.
Appeal Location
Note that we can only guarantee that appeals pertaining to the official server(NW_Official_NA1 or NW_Official_EU1), made on this forum section will be answered. Threads on other forums as well as private messages and appeals, will not be handled, but will instead be ignored. Appeals for unbans on other servers are free to be posted here, but may not be answered and may need to be referred. Look in their thread located in the server board to learn what you need to do to be unbanned if they do allow unbans.

If you see someone misbehaving seriously and not being dealt with by an admin, you can post on this forum to request that they be log banned, which involves banning someone even if they are no longer on the server. Make sure to include:
- Name of the server you were on(NW_Official_NA1 or NW_Official_EU1)
- Name of the person causing trouble
- Nature of their offense
- Time and date of their offense
- If needed, what your relationship was to the offense in question.
- Any proof if you have it, For instance screenshots. (use spoilers!)
As with unbans we try to deal with these with 1-2 days but a certain delay can be expected. Typically speaking, only the more serious offenses will warrant a log ban, and whilst we have sympathy for anyone who is team-killed by someone who does a runner, its not particularly wise for us to consider log banning someone for such an offense. Racial or homophobic slurs, streaks of team-killing and team wounding, cheating or glitching, abuse of map mechanics and other more problematic offenses are the kind of thing that will receive a log ban. If you want to appeal a log ban, make your unban request as above and post a link to the original ban request.
Complaints
Naturally the administration of any server is bound to have problems and upsets, in which case you are free to contact any of the EU Senior admins: MrTiki, Cenzii; NA Senior admins: Thunderstormer, LittleGuy directly via private message. The usual procedure for PM's remains; stay courteous and level headed, explain clearly what lead you to complain and include relevant times and dates. Bring any relevant evidence along when filing your complaint. If you have any complaints about a Senior Administrator; contact Vincenzo.
New User Corollary
When a person is banned, for whatever reason, I regard their persona as banned and do not expect to see them frequenting our servers or teamspeak any longer. However, as Napoleonic Wars is quite a fun game, I abide by a simple maxim when it comes to buying a new copy of it. That is, if you buy a new copy of the game, with a new name, no ties to your previous persona, you will not be pursued for any actions you committed previously - only the most egregious violations being exempt from this. In short, if you get permanently banned, buy a new CD-Key, get a new name and don't dwell on what you did previously.

Note that we can only guarantee that appeals pertaining to the official server(NW_Official_NA1 or NW_Official_EU1), made on this forum section will be answered. Threads on other forums as well as private messages and appeals, will not be handled, but will instead be ignored. Appeals for unbans on other servers are free to be posted here, but may not be answered and may need to be referred. Look in their thread located in the server board to learn what you need to do to be unbanned if they do allow unbans.
