Title: Getting kicked for "cheating"
Post by: Bravescot on July 24, 2016, 02:22:25 am
I download the mod, load it up and get kicked from the official server for "cheating". I have no idea why this is happening as it was my first time playing the mod. Looking around before spawning though I saw some very odd character models going on, such as people running around with nun's heads and one person having no legs, the black knight from Monty python's body and the head of a nun.

I'd appreciate some help in pointing out what has gone wrong and how I might fix it.

It may depend where you download it from with the traffic present. I downloaded it from MEGA with no problems.

I had the same issue as well. Every time a battle would start, I would be automatically kicked. But thank you for the help!

It could be two things depending on what version you have. If you have the version released yesterday, the MOV servers were running a test build that wasn't compatible with it. They've been updated and shouldn't have the same issue now. If you were running a version released before then (the test build the MOV servers were running) then you need to update to the version from yesterday.

So I attempted redownloading via MEGA and now it gets to "Loading Textures" and then stops responding

Damn, ya know mine was fine for the first launch, prior launches after that I have the same problem. Perhaps Mediafire is better then?

I've now tired with all possible download medias and all are getting the same results. Getting to "Loading Textures" and boom, stops responding.

I tried redownloading and reinstalling from Mediafire. The loading time is begrudingly slow at a steady 0.20 fps. I'll try changing graphics settings in-game another module like Native and see if this fixes it like it did for Juan the Great.

Doing a FOR SCIENCE test. I have been able to fix the super slow loading textures portion with copying some files from the last beta. Now I just have to decipher which file(s) did the trick itself.

EDIT: Turns out that the last beta texture files work better to load quicker than the release version. So, if you have this super slow loading time issue.. copying the last beta textures overwriting the current ones should fix it. I can replicate this loading time scenario again and again and everytime with copying the textures over, B&I 3.0 loads in about 3 minutes with Use Pixel Shaders/Force Vertical Sync./Load Textures on Demand ON, and Large Address Aware enabled on mb_warband.exe.

Tl;dr version: please stand by for Parrot's hotfix.

No need to, I just got the clearance permission to upload a hotfix for this issue. :D

Just need the Textures replaced/overwritten. 793 MB. Here's a hotfix for now, in the meantime to combat this issue.

What is a .rar file? The Textures hotfix you mean? You need WinRAR, Peazip, etc to extract the file into a open-able folder.
