The first edition will take place during first weekend of next month: 4th and 5th of march!
The rules are as following:
1. The tournament will be played in 5v5 format, the teams, however, can consist of few additional substitute players
* Teams can change their players at will, as long as only 5 of them are spawned for the round
* All players have to wear tags of their team during the event
* In case the team fails to bring 5 players, the other team will not be required to balance
* Winning condition: first to 5
* Single elimination
2. All cavalry classes are allowed
* The team must be consistent and play, as a whole, the class they declared during the registration
* Melee only: firearms cannot be used
* The equipment of dead opponents can be picked without restrictions
* Rankers only
3. Beheaviour
* The event will be conducted by admins: follow their requests
* If you disagree with something, wait 'till the event is over – don't make other players wait, just because you have objections (certainly misguided)
* All general standards of culture apply during the event: be respectful towards others
* Keep the white chat free of unneccessary content

The number of teams that allows us to evenly distribute them through brackets for 2-part tournament is either 8 or 12. The applications are opened 'till tuesday and to make it 12-team competition, THREE more team applications are needed. For anybody still hesitating, this is the final call.

Glenn and Erik with death and with reward did threaten and encourage me, not doing 't and being done: I, most humane and fill'd with honour, to my kingly guest unclasp'd my practise, quit the benefits of fewer teams, which you knew abundant, and to the hazard of all encertainties myself commended, through accepting even greater number. Hence, 4e, 2Lr and 7e teams receive now a belated pony seal of approval and to 16 teams our tournament rises.
Such change by another must be follow'd: that we replace FT5 with FT3, during the 1st round of tournament, so that unexpectedly high amount of players can play out everything as necessary in a time provided with a thought of rather lesser gathering. The FT5 shall return in later stage of the tournament, after amount of teams is reduced.

It is also time for some explainations regarding manner in which we shall proceed.
THE INFO BELOW IS CRUCIAL FOR TEAM CAPTAINS. READ OR BE CURSED.
The saturday is the 1st round of tournament. During that day, 8 matches need to be played.
As soon as you have the brackets and know your opponents (which shall happen later this day), you are requested to agree between your teams upon the possible time interval suiting both parties. Simply set up a hour, but taking in mind that it will be vague agreement until you follow the next step, which is contacting one of our staff (as before, it should be either me or Jokim) to find out what is the nearest available time to that which you prefer. First to ask are first to receive - the 1st pair of teams that will contact us with particular hour in mind will have about perfect chance for having it exactly as they desire, since nobody else could have reserved that hour before them. Meanwhile, we will create a schedule which will be updated gradually as the teams sign-in. Clearly, this means that teams members of which are less flexible and have limited time that day should make sure to contact us ASAP, to avoid problems and reserve the hour that suits them. Issues will be had, for sure, but we are positive that we can make everybody happy enough.

For following rounds: Sunday from 4-6 gmt (5-7 CET) teams in round 2 will agree and fight their matches. Then from 6-7 GMT (7-8 CET) there will be semifinals and 7-8GMT (8-9 CET) finals and bronze round.
Some rounds today were really tense ::)
For the next rounds: report to me or Rasti if you agreed on time already.
Rules are adjusted to FT5, 10 minutes per round for ROUND 2, SEMIFINALS and FINALS (and bronze match noone cares about :-[ :P )

There are mostly no lancer regiments out there atm.. the reason being is most likely that due to their inability to block with the lance, hussars just have the upper hand in a fight. However saying that there is no skill involved in fighting with a lance is just childish and ignorant. If one does think that it requires no skill they could simply haven chosen it as well or they would have beaten us easily. Nothing of this has happened though.
It was a fun match, a refreshing one from all the time playing as a hussar. However your statement just proves that you are bad at losing.

Congratulations to all who participated! We managed to gather impressive amount of cavalry players and see some intense matches full of first-raste cavalrymanship. It was not easy to organise such short and no-moment-to-breath competition, many said we would not make it, but we did. I thank Jokim for his proficient partnership, as the tournament was carried almost completely by the two of us from the beginning 'till end. We hope you enjoyed the matches, the scores, the formula, THE MAP (our masterpiece!), everything. If not, IT'S YOUR FAULT AND DON'T COMPLAIN... unless in a positive way!
Special congratulations to the finalists and winners: 2Lr, Survivors and Nr. 6. Two German and one French team. Can't say everything went as expected, but of course everybody deserved their place. Cuirassiers Polonais came close to podium, but were overcame by the hussars.

Even though I didn't partake in the tournament myself, i really enjoyed following the competition throughout FSE posts, any chances some of the matches got recorded?
Congratulations to the 2lr, as Erik stated it, you guys are around for quite a while and it was hard time you pick up a title, I'm convinced you guys fully deserve it. I also really enjoyed Rastignac and Jokim approach as administrators, who proved you can host a tournament, make it serious, competitive and sucessful while allowing all classes and a very special touch of humor that I absolutely loved.
Sincerely wish you had started hosting tournaments earlier on Rastignac, you would have make such a great host for many competitions. But better late than never, right? ;)

Sadly no as both of us had too much work with organising alone, so we did not even consider recording it, which might've been a shame after all. If we are to organise another tournament, we'll try to get someone to stream or make YT vids for sure! :)
