The King's German Legion has been one of the first Regiments in the linebattle / Napoleonic Wars community, and has ever since fought bravely in many battles. The roots of the Kings German Legion go far back and show 8 years of Linebattle and Napoleonic Wars experiance, starting back in the Half Life Mod Battlegrounds 2, over Mount&Musket and Mount and Blade: Napoleonic Wars. Now the King's men from Hannover have also found their way to Holdfast Update: we are holding off on Holdfast for now until it has matured a bit more.

Under the motto; "hard drill, high skill", the King's German Legion has made itself a name for it's outstanding discipline and order over the years.
We are participating in high quality linebattle events and devote a great deal of effort to performing in a historically accurate way.

All men of the King's German Legion are to hold up these high standards of discipline and always act with honour and good conduct.
Knowledge and skill are things to be learned, honed and perfected, but honour comes from within. As such, we have no skill requirements, but an effective training program designed to teach all the skills required, while serving as a honoured and valued soldier in His majesty's army.

(https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fkingsgermanlegion.com%2Fassets%2Fmedia%2Frankers.jpg%3F1&hash=d85bc736f3728548b51969e40cd8d87c60c78148)
Historically the King's German Legion consists of infantry, artillery and cavalry. On occasion we have already brought Light Infantry or Cavalry to the battlefield in the past, but remained with one existing battalion, the 5th Line Infantry. In September 2016 his majesty and the staff saw it fit to expand the existing structures of the Legion by opening a new cavalry detachement, the 1st Hussar Battalion. Newly formed it soon became a vital part of the whole regiment and had proven their value on the battlefield.

Our 5th  Line Battalion of the King's German Legion has become well renowned for it's excellent discipline and fighting ability since the old days of Battlegrounds 2. While the 1st Hussars are a quite young cavalry battalion they show the same devotion towards discipline and skill as the infantry and has ever so fought bravely and faithfully against all enemies of the crown. Fighting for honour and glory of His majesty King George the third.

The newest addition towards the King's German Legion is the 2nd Light Battalion. Historicly these men were the bravest amongst the Light Infantry at the battle of Waterloo, defending the position of La Haye Sainte against the french, being completely outnumbered and lacking essential supplies. At the end of the battle only 40 men of the battalion survived but they fulfilled their task: they held La Haye Sainte against the french. In this huge footsteps the newly formed 2nd Light Battalion in Holdfast seeks to perform just as brave and honourable as these chosen men did by high skill, outstanding discipline and historical accuracy. Currently not in service

However, its not all about the line battles, the community within the regiment is an important part. Not only do we fight together on the battlefield against whoever dares to challenge the King's men from Hannover, we also play many different games together, just hang out in Teamspeak, have a chat and a jolly good time.
And given our great infrastructure, we are also able to host additional game servers - should a particular game be very popular within the Regiment.

As of now the following servers are permanently available:

You are the whole of the King's German Legion? You have reserved around seventeen different groups or units of troops? On a regimental scale for each?
Might as well reserve an army.

good day,

You are the whole of the King's German Legion? You have reserved around seventeen different groups or units of troops? On a regimental scale for each?
Might as well reserve an army.

Well, in an army you have several Regiments, we see the KGL as an equal to a single Regiment because the KGL consists out of several battalions.

So far there have existed and still exist some KGL Battalions that call them self Regiments, which is in a historical matter not correct if you ask me. Anyway, those operate on there own, independent of us.
Before we took the action of naming ourselves KGL I talked to all officers of noteworthy KGL regiments I could find and none had any objections. We of course tolerate those already existing Regiments and do not claim ownership of their name.

The Reason why we changed from 5th KGL to KGL is apart form the historical point also that we expanded and still have plans for the future to continue to expand. And the 5th KGL being just a Line Battalion it would just look foolish having Cavalry ride under that same Battalion name.

Best Regards
Colonel Zauberfisch of the King's German Legion

But a Legion itself is a military unit - just because the KGL consisted of battalions and the next structural title above that is 'regiment', doesn't mean that the King's German Legion is one. It is a Legion. For example, the "Auxiliary Legion" (also known as the British Legion) in Spain consisted of many different regiments. Also, many of the KGL Battalions probably had regimental affiliations anyhow, and thus should be listed as single 'Battalion Regiments' (as most are generally detached from their linked regiment).

In that case, you should form a different blasted regiment! Not envelope the name of an entire Legion to suit your needs... but that's a different topic. I despise these cavalry 'detachments', so at least you've tried to work around it, despite doing so poorly.

5th Line Battalion

What about that? Makes a distinction that you're not reserving all the other battalion regiments, and so on, that are linked to the King's German Legion. "We are the 5th Line Battalion and 1st Dragoons of the King's German Legion" - as opposed to "We are the King's German Legion". I mean, if I were to make a regiment, I wouldn't want to force myself under your command now would I? I don't even know who you are! It suggests you'd be incorporating me into some form of army (or Legion) by default, and I wouldn't want that. So yeah, that was my heads up - you should change it. Can't force you to, but you should. Good luck anyhow.

No bump needed, these guys are a pretty nice company to talk to and have their own sympathetic way of being nice.
I learned to know them, after hearing just the best about this regiment. Then I got the opportunity to check these praises myself.
Now I have got a good image of their leading staff members and can't say a bad thing about them.
So my result for them is: They are a regiment worth of the respect from other regiments and if you need a partner regiment for an event ask them they will most likely help you if it is in their power!

Greetings from your friend and brother in arms Animalorian

Gentlemen,

we are happy to announce you a unique new server we brought up this saturday. It is a scripted Counter Strike Server in which one team plays as terrorists and the other one as counter terrorists. As it is very well known, the terrorists have to plant a bomb to win the round while the CTs task is to defuse it before it explodes.
The server is currently in a beta version as there are still some minor bugs that might occur but we gladly invite you all to join and have fun!

To all subjects of his Majesty, King George III.

after the 1st Hussar Batallion of the Kings German Legion took severe losses in the recent battle, the Commander in Chief, his grace Arthur Wellesley Duke of Wellington, by the grace of his majesty, decided to resupply the batallion with new men. Therefor the glorious 5th Kings German Legion, formerly a line only regiment, has formed a cavalry batallion restoring the 1st KGL Hussars to their former glory.
Under Colonel Zauberfisch and the direct command of Captain Ryan, the 1st Hussars shall become glorious once more. Every man who is willing to serve his king and country and is capable of fighting on horseback is hereby called to arms and report to the nearest recruitment officer!

The newly changed tags of the KGL are now:
[KGL]5thLB_Rank_Name for the Line Batallion
[KGL]1stHus_Rank_Name for the Hussar Batallion

Service guarantees citizenship!
The first post will be updated soon!

The infantry had a competitive match meanwhile and the enemy came with more men than expected, so we needed the cav there to have equal numbers.

Great thanks to you for attending the Fehde without any trouble, that I would remember.
You had the courage to play on even with these bad results, you have my respect for that!
The council to discuss everything afterwards will be on the 8th October 2016 on 6 pm.
By the way, thanks for administrating some matches.

Greetings from your organisator of the Fehde der Romanovs Animalorian

My first ever regiment as well- I was there way, way back- a long time ago, so I doubt any of the same people are still there. I am also amazed to see this still going.

Good day gents,

our infantry fought in Chrishey's 5v5 Sword & Bayonet Tournament (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=41770.0) last sunday. Unfortunately we didn't reach the knock out stage, since we got a pretty tough group. Even though we got one win (auto win lol) we lost to ProudBoys (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=41649.0) 5-2 (winner of the tournament) and JediMasters (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=39245.0) 5-1 (lost to TBE in round 1).
Even though we are not really known to be a competetive regiment, except in cavalry, we hope that we gave everyone a good impression from us.

Best regards,
Corporal Chainsor/Train - 5th Line Battalion King's German Legion

It's always a positive thing to see regiments/group of players trying themselves in competitive environnements. More than giving a good impression of the 5th (even though I understand it does matter in your eyes), I hope you guys enjoyed yourselves. Taking 2 rounds out of 7 against the reigning champion of last 7v7 and winner of that tournament is good introduction to the competitive scene, no doubt.

If your experience was deemed positive, I can only invite you to sign-up again for the upcoming 8v8 Groupfighting Tournament in early July, that Shadey and I are hosting. We have only one spot left, but we might be able to push the limit to 16 if there is enough interest.

You can find more information on that thread (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=41852.0). Wherever we see you there or at another tournament, have fun!

Thank you very much for these kind words! We definitely enjoyed our staying for the two matches! We will discuss this invitation in our upcomming stuff meeting.

We try to play here and there some groupfighting matches or 1v1's against some german and sometimes some international regiments, but actually not more. We once played in a M. Tournament where both, cavalry and infantry, played together. But thats the only tournament, besides the last one, where we attended which was competetive (as far as i can remember (I don't count 1v1/GF tournaments from the german community)).

We held our 10 years anniversary groupfighting tournament a few weeks ago. It was a success! We didnt reach the total number of 16 regiments, but it was still fine with 8.
