The time of the events
« on: March 27, 2014, 11:17:30 am »
Hello guys.
I would ask you if you're happy with the current time of the most of the events organized on NW, because basically all of them are at 7gmt. I think that for some people (from Italy, Spain, South France etc..) it's not a very good hour, at 8-8,30 gmt, after dinner, should be better.
Would you be interested in a event set at 8 pm gmt for example? Or is it impossible for people of northern countries of Europe? Let me know ^^

If you put it at 8gmt, that'd be 9 for a lot of Europe.

I don't think you can change an entire community's tradition and just move all events forward or backwards an hour. :(

its not what time works best for a specific zone, its what works for all. In the NA, events start at 8PM EST, which is 7PM Central, 6PM Mountain, and 5PM Pacific. If they made it any later, east coast would be up way to late, and if they made it any earlier, pacific coast would be excluded. The times are usually the best times that include all regions.

And you have to remember, there are NAs that are in EU regiment and vise versa. Although they are still bad times they are "early" enough for them to attend the LBs. I personally think that 8 EST is perfect for any event. 9 EST is okay too but pushing it to the limit...

Such inflexibility with the time might not be helpful with the decreasing numbers we get now. Might be time to actually consider other times.

I always found it pretty goddamn annoying these events EU time wise happen when a majority of people are eating or making their tea still.

Its always been "7 gmt" besides maybe a few french events which started later you could look into.

For NA.. honestly I think 9pm est is not late at all.. (considering most go to sleep at what like 11-12pm?) but maybe just for weekends ;p

7pm is when I used to make dinner, but overall 7-7:30pm GMT is a good time for the majority of Europe.

I disagree. People don't think there is an issue now. But then they complain that <INSERT EVENT HERE> is dying! Because it is held at the exact same time as six other events and the NW community is only a couple hundred strong.

Nothing wrong with maybe considering attempting to hold events/training at different times now. I imagine a few years ago it made sense for the younger still at school types but that was a few years ago now.

Disagree. 7pm gmt is the best time. People just need to get some more freedoms so they can eat whenever they want to, or maybe learn to cock themselves(not dependent on others).

I can cock for myself.

It's 'cook', Carolus. :)

I do as well. Most of us French people and other southern european tribesmen usually eat around 8pm GMT+1 so whenever an event starts we gotta go din dins. That is kinda annoying I must say.
