I drive a Ibiza 2017, from Seat. Bought it in August 5th, worked hard to achieve it.
It is manual. (Automatic version was only in pink color if you know what I mean).

You gotta understand though, that in some (most :P) states in the US and Canada, the distances you have to travel to get anywhere are 1010101010101 times larger than the distances you would have to travel in Europe. So a young driving age makes sense. Besides, if you live in the middle of nowhere and you have huge streets(Cause Murica has much broader streets than Europe does, in general) and mostly automatic cars , I see no problem.

I learned to drive in a 2010 Toyota Prius that my older brother has since totaled, but now I occasionally drive a Honda Fit

As for why used cars are so expensive in the US, you can thank Obama for destroying the used car market with his cash for clunkers program back in like 2008-2009
