Title: Hiding domain name owner information
Post by: Stavlock on December 29, 2021, 10:41:29 pm
I was surprised to see that my domain name registrar was charging a fee to hide the personal information of the domain name owner. I thought it was a free service. I have a lot of domain names and I don’t want to pay for it. Tell me, is this service free at the registrars you use?

This information is public regardless of whether you choose to hide it or not. Even if you pay to have your information hidden it will still show the contact email address for example. All it will hide is the address, name etc. Which is why for my domains I don't use my own address.

This is a completely free service with many registrars. I have not even heard that they charge extra for this. This is called "whois privacy". I use one registrar and this option is enabled for all my TLDs. You can check.

Ok, I'll check this possibility. What other useful advices can you give?
