About the Tournament

Hello, so I have decided to host a tournament for the first time. I have decided to keep it a relatively simple 4v4 tournament for my first go.

The tournament will be hosted next Friday (7/2 | Start time will be 9:30 pm EST) with the potential of a group stage and having the top 3 teams in each group go onto the playoff rounds. (if more teams than expected show up, we will do a standard bracket) The group stage matches will be ft5, the Semifinals and bronze match will be ft7, and the Final will be ft10.

Rules

-Decent behavior is expected. No insults and no trolling of any kind.
-If you are not in a match, you have to join the spectator. Interrupting an ongoing game will result in an immediate ban for the player doing the troll and said player's team.
-Melee speed will be set to fastest
-Nations will be UK and France
-Only normal Lineinfantery. No Lights, no Guard, no Marines.
-The Bayonet is the only weapon to be used.
-A Round begins after both Captains have written Ready or R
-The use of RP Names is allowed, but you must include it next to your community name in the sign-up.
-The use of similar faces is forbidden. There has to be a noticeable difference.
-The maximum Roster capacity is 4. There will be no sub.

Sign-ups will close at 9est tonight. If more teams are to sign up, that is fine 10 teams was just a personal goal I wanted to get. I won't deny teams signing up for a tournament if they truly wish to play.

I will also allow roster changes to be done but as long as its before 9:30est

I want to thank everyone who signed up and participated in my first tournament. I'm glad we met my ten-team goal and had an actual group stage and not the typical standard & loser bracket format. I want to thank the 84th for letting me use their servers, as they did not have to but gladly volunteered them for the tournament. A big thanks to the Admin Team as they made my job a lot easier, and a BIG thank you to Mikey for running group B part of the bracket and being a head admin in his own right. I hope to see more tournaments go down in the future as they are a lot of fun. Congrats to BroScience or better known as Nickcole, Runepkyz, Bagins, and Python, for signing up last minute and, in fact, winning the whole thing. It was a hard-fought victory, and they do indeed deserve it.

I actually liked the group stage. Not only did we play more but it actually went kinda fast for how many matches were played

Enjoyed the group stage format, for my team we had two players who never played competitive in Galvik and Source. In a single/double elim format, we would have played only 1-2 matches at most. This group stage format allowed my inexperienced players to gain as much experience possible. Hope to see this format utilized more often. Thanks once again for hosting  ;D

I appreciate all the positive feedback and am glad everyone seemed to have enjoyed the format. for it is the first tournament I have ever hosted it means a lot about hearing all these things i do hope to host in the future.

Quick one week league with a group stage everyone in a group plays each other in one night once, and then another night again. Then single elimination. Boom

So I have decided to close the poll due to the percentage being so one-sided and I do believe that the group stage format is 100x better than normal brackets.

I am debating on hosting another tournament relatively soon and want to get yall's opinion on the team sizes so I would like for yall to vote on what size yall would like it to be.

I will also not be hosting this tournament for a while I do not want to overdo anything.

EU’s been doing group stages for years. It’s definitely better since the weaker teams get much more play time
