Also will you be able to use a whistle while using your revolver (Like a static prop in the mouth of the officer with a altered sound pack where they will make whistle noises) or will they be a instrument like a Bugle, Trumpet or Fife etc, Sorry if it seems nit-picky for asking about this, but an officer whistle is a trademark of WW1.
They'll be treated as an instrument. If we find a way to allow the player to use both a pistol and whistle at the same time in the future, we'd certainly do it.
Also what will be the officer melee weapon? A pistol whip or is this set earlier in the war when swords were still popular with officers?
The mod is set mid-late war so no swords. A pistol and trench knife should be adequate for self defense. They may not be the most effective in combat, but we'll try to find ways to make playing them worthwhile.
Very good, although the static prop sound file edit might be a viable option in my opinion however if you can find a way to do the pistol-whistle duel use that would be preferable.
On the other hand if you could do that with an instrument - Firearm mix, then maybe the ability to hold a pistol and the trench knife with the static whistle might be a good way do go, as it avoids the need to switch to the knife, which would possibly balance it against the rifles.
Also ammo runners might be a good idea for a specialist class for support, as I noticed in BaI ammo runs out quickly, and ammo runners will give a new dynamic to both public play and organised battles having a small dedicated team to resupply teammates would be a great piece of tactical play, Obviously these are just suggestions and I am not too experienced with the modding of games at all so I may be suggesting things that will only make more work for you.
