Why not just drink diet drinks and not have to suffer through the horror of only drinking water?
Diet sodas are even worse for you than regular sodas. All sorts of horrible chemicals put in there to balance out the lack of other stuff.

Anyway, my favorite sodas tend to be Crush orange soda, Sprite, Root Beer, and occasionally Stewart's or Boyland cream soda. Boyland also has some good cherry soda. I personally find Coke, Pepsi and other "cola" sodas to be disgusting.
What sort of horrible chemicals? :o
In theory we could do huge player numbers far over 500 players per server...  As such we will surely keep our promise to deliver you the 500 players per server.

We will probably go (far) over it, but that's for later.

Well that's not really horrible chemicals, that's just people being silly and thinking that not having the couple hundred calories in a regular soda offsets the more-than-a-couple-hundred calories in an extra fries.

Since i'm a Varsity LB for my football team, the coach tries to keep us from soda. So i drink a lot of Gatorade(fruitpunch or the white cherry one)

It doesn't say anything about it being offset by the extra fries. It talks specifically about the chemicals that are added to the soda to replace the ones that were taken away, which end up being even worse.

It says that it might be the chemicals causing some side effect, but all but one also say it could just be a psychological effect that I mentioned. The study (all of them were talking about the same source) only noticed a correlation anyway, so we can't distinguish between the two causes.

Yeah actually you're probably right in that regard. However my original point was just responding to what you said about how he should drink diet soda to lose weight, or something along those lines. The specifics of it are kind of foggy, but it still stands that it's not any better for you.

Well, I would think that if you just keep in mind how many calories you're avoiding by drinking a diet beverage and don't use it as a justification for more burgers, it would cause weight loss, as you are consuming less calories.

The concept name "diet soda" itself doesn't sound very healthy itself for sure.

Not really, having zero (or near enough) calories is a good way to make a food/drink a "diet" food/drink.
