Then again.

"Also that you have the fancy viking ship code doesn't say it won't be laggy. Viking models on native are really basic and barely take much lag. A small example for lag is to see on PW. And then compare that with huge detailed ships with cannons etc."

I understand, but then it is exactly that, which we want to find out, if it is laggy or not, we shall see.

Good luck,

but to get something like that into Mount&Blade, you have to redo the whole engine :(

I still do not understand how they managed to get moving boats in PW, and that it seems to be impossible for NW? o_O

the thing is the ships of the Napoleonic wars are far bigger and more complex than that little boat.
To make the model of such a ship you need more 'figures' to make it.
for example a cannon takes 6 'figures'.
the more figures a model has the more lagg it will produce.
Unless you can make a ship out of 1 figure there would be no problem.

So, the ship is a 1 figure, lets say around 12-24 cannons (max. 144 figure's) and... what else?

Those are small boats tough with no cannons or other models. Hinkel is talking about the big ships in the video ( For a mount and blade game made by the same guys as with fire and sword, they had to redo a lot in the engine. ), he is saying that that is impossible with the current NW engine.

Indeed, and, what 6-part cannon do you mean, the horse carriage ones, because there are those yellow, and one other, which are way smaller, but I have no idea of how many figures it consists

Also, @Dekkers, you could put 5 to 8 cannonson it, instead of 12-24, you would just have to choose a smaller type of ship.

Masts, deks, things that make a battle ship different from a rowing boat  :)

Ahh now I understand!
Well, I don't think naval battle's would work in M&B Anyway (In the 19th century atleast)

Edit:
Even if they don't move I am happy ;)

The Deluge devs managed to do something like that without redo ::)

You do you that there won't be people on that ship? They did the same as the Breslau devs did with Tanks, as if you are on a horse. With some extra scripts.

What they want with marines etc won't work much. Also I doubt they will release that script for you guy's.

Btw, if it worked that well. Why didn't they add it to their modifcation then?
