Naval Warfare - A Mod for The Napoleonic Wars
« on: April 02, 2013, 07:22:18 pm »

Naval Warfare
A Napoleonic Wars Mod

The Story:
Spoiler
Your ship needs you in its moment of glory!
Our sole purpose of creating this mod is to give those
sea-legged sailers an experience they will never forget.
Not only will there be epic ship battles, but classes
and weapons to further enhance the game play.
Napoleonic Wars only has minimal ship-related things,
such as row boats; which can only hold a small amount of players.
So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

---------- Background Info ----------
Spoiler
The idea was there: Naval Warfare in Mount & Blade: Napoleonic wars.
But the development of the original patch is going slower than expected,
and the patch will most likely not have moving ship.
Even though the team of the Naval Warfare modification, will try
to get it rolling anyway!
This, however, might mean that the size of the battles will decrease.
But more Information will come as soon as the work starts.
Now, just enjoy the idea of being able to be the captain your own ship!

No offence, but if the FSE guys can barely handle it. Why do you think you guys can? Just wondering :)

We are going to take things down a step, and have a special surprise that will reduce lag.

Good day folks, here is a quick update up the state of affairs:

Me and Dutchfoot have been counsiling about the things we want and need, to get this mod working.
Probably, this will not at all be as you would at first expect, but more on that, as soon as we get the actual things installed.

DutchFoot has in fact experience with modding, though he and I are going to look ino python modding for M&B.

I have been sending PMs to certain people which do have some coding in place already, and I am looking forward to their responses.

Later updates will be added to this thread.

I will get some signatures coming: I have contacted The_Muffin_King, and I will go and make some myself.

Of course, additional signatures of you guys, will most definately be greatly appreciated. PM me or DutchFoot if you have got something and we will add it if we can/ want to.

I hope this clears things up a bit, more updates to come.

PS: We are still looking for people who can code, model, and texture.

You're just starting to look into Python, and you're already planning on adding moving ships?

No amount of luck will help you.

We are just starting off with simple things, and are going to get coders to enhance the mod of course.
And we have a way in which it could work, which we will not release atm.
