Eurekan's Mapping Thread
« on: March 21, 2013, 12:58:28 pm »
Hello people of the Napoleonic Wars community.

I would just like to share the maps I have developed for, and which are currently featured on, NW_Official_Aus 1.
They are now available to all, enjoy!

I'll keep this thread updated with any maps I release in the future.

Vienna
This map was developed with Capture the Flag in mind but it is equally enjoyable for Battle. It is symmetrical and, as a result, is completely balanced.

Port Assault
This Siege map can be a lot of fun for both attackers and defenders. It has a fortified side and a weaker port side, allowing for some interesting boat attacks and sapper opportunities.

Scene.txt Information
scn_mp_fort_fleetwood_storm mp_fort_fleetwood_storm 256 none none 0.000000 0.000000 100.000000 100.000000 -100.000000 0x000000023002a1ba0004210900003ca000006a8900007a7b

Arabian City
Grander in scale than Port Assault, this Siege map resembles a city more so than a fort, however there are some nice rooftop positions for defenders and some interesting ways for attackers to gain entry to the city. Attackers have taken up residence in the village just outside the city and must mount an effective assault on the city which is situated strategically on an island.

Ruined Castle
Another Siege map, this one  featuring a ruined castle from medieval times in the process of being rebuilt. The lumber yard used for the reconstruction has been captured by the attackers.

Moscow
What if the Russians never set fire to Moscow and instead stood their ground against the Grande Armée advance into the city? This Conquest map is great for organised events.

I've played on these maps in Australian events and general play. They're bloody good.

Well Done Eure!

Eure's input into our maps for our community goes beyond just these screenshots! Having played all but the Arabian City, these maps have great attention to detail.

Ignoring how people are making profiles just to post on this thread...

Looking good. I especially like the concept of the ruined castle, however I cant help but to feel like it's going to be a bit annoying, not being destructible and all. Have you placed the artillery barriers on the castle walls so the shots cant penetrate the walls?

Artillery is disabled on that map because of the nature of the walls. Defenders do get 4 mortars however.

Looks good. Though you should reduce the amount of cannons on the Port Assault map with 50/25%, having them to fire all will cause some fps issues.

Keep it up!
