Community / How to get a Good Reputation in the NW community?
« on: November 24, 2014, 10:24:00 am »
I am fairly new to the Napoleonic Wars Community, and I would like to ask a question.
I recently saw some very dirsturbing posts made by leaders of big regiments that I thought were supposed to be a role model to their members, whereas it is completely diffirent as far as I can see, I have seen people Flame, Discriminate, and misbehave(troll) and I just wanted to ask on what to do. Avoid all of the flame wars, or get involved in them? What gets you a good reputation in the community?

28th Regiment of Foot

History
Spoiler
For their conduct at the Battle of Alexandria in 1801 the 28th was given the unique honour of wearing a badge on both the front and rear of their head dress.[1] This commemorated a possibly unique feat, when, drawn up in two ranks to repel a French infantry attack, they were simultaneously attacked from the rear by French cavalry. Lieutenant-Colonel Chambers, who had taken over command following the serious wounding of the Commanding Officer, Colonel Paget, gave the historic order "Rear rank, 28th! Right about face!". The rear ranks turned and with exemplary discipline waited until the French cavalry were a few horse lengths away. They then fired one devastating volley, causing heavy casualties amongst the cavalry and forcing them to withdraw. They served throughout the Peninsula War including the battles of Talavera, Albuhera and Vittoria. They were one of the few Peninsula veteran regiments which were available for the Hundred Days campaign and fought in the battles of Quatre Bras and Waterloo as part of the 8th Brigade commanded by James Kempt. Because of their actions in this campaign, they earned distinguished mention in the dispatches of the Duke of Wellington. During the Hundred Days the 28th continued to wear the old style stovepipe shako, distinguishing them from most British regiments that had adopted the new Belgic shako.Lady Butlers The 28th Regiment at Quatre Bras
The 28th Regiment were the subject of a famous oil painting on canvas from 1875 by Elizabeth Thompson (Lady Butler), portraying the regiment in action at Quatre Bras.

"The Endless"
Kill One And 2 More Will Arise From The Ashes
The 83rd Regiment Of Foot is a regiment based in EU, we are a highly disciplined regiment and have the goal of becoming one of the best regiments around! We are a friendly regiment with a fair number of highly experienced officers who are always recruiting! Think this is the regiment for you? Join here!

History
The 83rd was raised in 1793 by William Fitch, their colonel, in and around Dublin, for service in the French Revolutionary Wars. Therefore the nickname " Fitch's Grenadiers"

Their first service was overseas, seeing action and garrison duty in the West Indies between 1795 and 1798. Following this they were returned to Europe, and fought under Wellington in the Peninsular campaign. In this they saw action at Talavera, Busaco, Badajoz and Salamanca. In 1815 they again served under Wellington in the Waterloo campaign, which saw the final defeat of Napoleon.

The 83rd was stationed in Canada from 1834 to 1843. During this time the 83rd was posted in Halifax 1834 through 1837, Quebec 1837, Montreal 1837, Kingston 1838 through 1843, and Quebec 1843. During this period the 83rd supplied detachments to London, St Thomas, and Amherstburg. The primary role of the 83rd while in Lower and Upper Canada was to maintain order during the Rebellion of 1837, and to repel invaders from the United States. A key engagement with rebels and invaders took place at the Battle of the Windmill 1838.

In the post-war colonial period the 83rd were stationed in India, and were engaged in the Sepoy rebellion of 1857.

Name under which you were banned - 93rd_Rct_Richard_Carter
Server(s) you are banned from - 15th Humans vs Bots
What was happening when you got banned - I believe I asked in the chat how does the recruiting work, someone told me that its allowed one time per round. And so i did it like that. Next day I come back and it says that I Am banned.
Time and date when the account was banned - No idea but that was between 23:00 GMT and 17:00 the next day
Timezone - I listed the time in GMT but I play in GMT + 2
User Identification Number - I do not know how to find it, can you please just look throught the names. Its too complicated to find
Why should you be unbanned? - Because I am sorry that I was falsely led to believe that recruiting was allowed. If someone could explain that to me that would be nice thanks.

506th Regiment of Foot

506th Regiment of Foot is not a historically accurate regiment. We just want to have fun like anyone else. 506th was Disbanded in August of 2013 and has not seen any of its fighters around up until June of 2014. I myself DanTheMan was one of those fighters. I revived the 506th Regiment of Foot on the 21st of October 2014. From that day I am motivated to do whatever I can to keep this regiment alive. And I promise you gents. If you are looking for a medium sized, friendly, and skilled regiment join the 506th regiment of Foot. We will not disband till the end!
