She will also teach me some basic stitching, which I atm completely fail at.

It's not that hard: You just find the same colour thread, and cricle around the hole. Done.

I suck at working with my hands.

As you're Dutch, I'll just assume that green stuff is weed.

I've changed my next buy due to unexpected news. A book I've been waiting to come out is on its way to the press right now and there's a pre-order discount.

It's called, "Into Oblivion: The Story of Pionier-Bataillon 305" and is highly detailed and in depth.

To give a little background, right before Red Orchestra 2 came out, my realism unit settled on portraying the Pionieren of Pi.Btl.305 because of their feats in the battle of Stalingrad. My platoon leader had already bought a few books from the publisher and talked with the guy who has written quite a few books for the company. He convinced him to study up on and write a book on the unit, then when a facebook poll came out for which units the guy should work on next came up, we ambushed the poll and voted for our portrayed unit.

So even now that we're no longer doing realism in RO2 and not even portraying 305, we're still excited for the book and I know quite a few of us are going to buy it myself included. I even plan on doing a reenacting impression on the unit... although I may want to invest some money into many, many faux grenades and 3kg charges.
Humans are extremely complicated creatures. Death uncomplicates them to a frightening degree...

My next buy is a new sack coat, because during training camp I ended up ripping mine on a branch.

Yes I know, I'm a dumbdumb.

Like he said.

Patching it up may be the more authentic thing to do, if you can find some good authentic patching material for it. Unless of course it was a cheap farby one to begin with. In which case...

Yeah, Altough I never seen a patch on sack coat before but maybe if the material is the same, it would works. If my baby sack coat rip, theres no way in hell im going to spend another 200, i gotta patch that baby up. But ive seen so many thousand time in the crotchal region of the trouser. Its pretty funny anyway, Sky blue and WAM ...polka dots or yellow-green stripe patch.

So I just bought a Briquet for 200 dollars. Yeh, I know, quite expensive, but it was either that or importing one and paying a lot more.

Anyway, I can't really decide on my next buy. It'll either be my first musket (still undecided on which one), or a bearskin hat.

In regards to the musket, I reenact in a militia, and although the original regiment was issued captured India pattern Bess muskets, there were all kinds of muskets used by the original Tercio de Montañeses. So far records show the presence of long lands, short lands, sea patterns, Potsdams, Charlevilles and even a dozen or so Russian muskets.

I'm lost here.

It seems the grenadiers wore Spanish style bearskins with the long bag. The rest of them wore toppers not unlike the Royal Marines.
