About the British Grenadier's

We are a relaxed British regiment who specialise in foot guards or close combat infantry. We can trace our history back to Early 2014 when the BG was first formed under Col. Ghost. Many of us here also played in NW, NaS and HF. We are exited to be coming to BCoF to continue our longevity as a group.
We have some very simple rules here. 1. Be nice. 2. To have jolly good fun. 3. No racism or slurs. 4. Listen to all orders. 5. Do not retreat. 6. Do not troll. We pride ourselves on professionalism and experience within the ranks as well as creating a new home for many newer players.

History of the British Grenadeir's

The Grenadier Guards is an infantry regiment of the British Army. It can trace its lineage back to 1656 when Lord Wentworth's Regiment was raised in Bruges to protect the exiled Charles II. In 1665, this regiment was combined with John Russell's Regiment of Guards to form the current regiment, known as the 1st Regiment of Foot Guards. Since then, the regiment has filled both a ceremonial and protective role as well as an operational one. In 1900, the regiment provided a cadre of personnel to form the Irish Guards; while later, in 1915 it also provided the basis of the Welsh Guards upon their formation. The regiment's early history saw it take part in numerous conflicts including the War of Spanish Succession, the War of Austrian Succession, the Seven Years' War, and the Napoleonic Wars; at the end of this period the regiment was granted the "Grenadier" designation by a Royal Proclamation. During the Victorian Era, the regiment took part in the Crimean War, the Anglo-Egyptian War, the Mahdist War, and the Second Boer War. During the First World War, the Grenadier Guards was expanded from three battalions to five, of which four served on the Western Front, while later during the Second World War, six battalions were raised, and several were converted to an armoured role as part of the Guards Armoured Division. These units fought in France, North-West Europe, North Africa and Italy. After the Second World War the regiment was reduced first to three battalions, then to two, and finally to one battalion in the mid-1990s. Major deployments during this time have included operations in Palestine, Malaya, Cyprus, Northern Ireland, the Gulf War, Afghanistan and Iraq.

The Grenadier Guards trace their lineage back to 1656, when Lord Wentworth's Regiment was raised from gentlemen of the Honourable Artillery Company by the then heir to the throne, Prince Charles (later King Charles II), in Bruges, in the Spanish Netherlands (present-day Belgium), where it formed a part of the exiled King's bodyguard. A few years later, a similar regiment known as John Russell's Regiment of Guards was formed

In 1665, these two regiments were combined to form the 1st Regiment of Foot Guards, consisting of 24 companies of men. Since then the Grenadier Guards have served ten Kings and four Queens, including the current Queen Elizabeth II. Throughout the 18th century, the regiment took part in a number of campaigns including the War of Spanish Succession, the War of Austrian Succession and the Seven Years' War. At the end of the Napoleonic Wars, the regiment gained the name "Grenadier" in July 1815 following a Royal Proclamation. During the Victorian era, the regiment took part in the Crimean War, participating in the fighting at the Alma river, Inkerman, and Sevastopol.[8] For their involvement in the Crimean War, four members of the 3rd Battalion received the Victoria Cross. Later the regiment fought at Battle of Tel el-Kebir during the Anglo-Egyptian War in 1882, and then the Mahdist War in Sudan, both during the 1885 Suakin Expedition and in 1898, at the Battle of Omdurman. During the Second Boer War, the 2nd and 3rd Battalions were deployed to South Africa, where they took part in a number of battles including the Battle of Modder River and the Battle of Belmont, as well as a number of smaller actions. In 1900, seventy-five men from the regiment were used to raise a fourth Guards regiment, known as the Irish Guards in honour of the role that Irish regiments had played in the fighting in South Africa. On January 16th, 2021, Captain Stryker authorized the official formation of the 39th New York Volunteers, nicknamed the Garibaldi Guard. With a loyal and dedicated regimental base from the RSL, 20th, and various other groups in the NW and North and South communities as well as holdfast, the 39thNY has a primary goal to ensure the mistakes of previous regimental games shall not become prominent in this game by providing stability within the community. Outside of BCOF, the 39thNY will often play other games and hang out within our regimental discord. We pride ourselves on professionalism and experience within the ranks as well as creating a new home for many newer players.

We are an experienced regiment who has formed up for BCoF. Comprised mostly of experienced NW players we are a fun regiment.

Not only do we play BCoF but we play a lot of Arma, NW, Total war and much more. We have a strong community bond with all the regiments in Excelsior Brigade and we have community game nights too!

This regiment was mustered (assembled) in New York City by the Union Défense Committee, under the leadership of Col. Frederick George D'Utassy by special authority from the War Department during the Civil War of the United States. On May 27, 1861, they deployed to Washington D.C., having been authorized for a period of three years by New York State. Initially, the regiment was divided into eleven companies of men of different national heritage: three German, three Hungarian, one Swiss, one Italian, one French, one Spanish, and one Portuguese. On May 31, 1863, the regiment was consolidated into four companies: A, B, C and D. The regiment expanded as new companies were recruited in the field. On December 8, 1863, Company E was added; on December 14, 1863, Company F joined. On December 19, 1863, Company G was added; and on December 30, 1863 Company H joined. Companies I and K joined in January, 1864. Companies A, B, C and D were mustered out in New York city June 24, 1864. Enlistees who were not entitled to be discharged were transferred to other companies within the regiment. Six companies: E, F, G, H, I and K, remained in service. In October, 1864, a new Company D, mustered mostly from Malone, New York joined the regiment for one year. On June 2, 1865, the members of the regiment not eligible to be mustered out were transferred into the 185th Infantry.

During its period of service, 5 officers and 62 enlisted men were killed in action; 3 officers and 49 enlisted men died of wounds received in action; 1 officer and 158 enlisted men died of disease and other causes. In total, 278 men (9 officers and 269 enlistees) died while in service in the regiment. Of those, 1 officer and 99 enlisted men died while captured by the Rebel army.

The regiment left the New York State May 28, 1861; served at and near Washington, D. C., from June 1, 1861; in the 1st Brigade, 5th Division, Army of Northeastern Virginia, from July 13, 1861; in Blenker's Brigade, Division of Potomac, from August 4, 1861; in Stahel's Brigade, Blenker's Division, Army of the Potomac, from October 15, 1861; in 1st Brigade, same division, Mountain Department, from April, 1862; in White's Brigade, Army of Virginia, at Winchester, Va., from July, 1862; at Harper's Ferry, W. Va., from September, 1862; at Camp Douglass, Chicago, Ill., from September 27, 1862; near Washington, D.C., 1st Brigade, Casey's Division, defenses of Washington, from December, 1862; in January, 1863, in 3d Brigade, Casey's, later Abercrombie's Division, 22d Corps; in 3d Brigade, 3d Division, 2d Corps, Army of the Potomac, from June 25, 1863; in the 3d, and for a time in the Consolidated, Brigade, 1st Division, 2d Corps, Army of the Potomac, from March, 1864; and was honorably discharged and mustered out, under Col. Augustus Funk, July I, 1865, except (new) Company D, which had been mustered out, June 7, 1865, at Alexandria, Va. About us.

We are a British regiment who specialise in foot guards or close combat infantry. We can trace our history back to Early 2014 when the BG was first formed. After many good matches and tournaments Ghost decided to disband as he was moving onto other games disbanded in mid 2015. Most of the regiment carried on into the 57th under the command of Havoc after the disbanding. I have reformed to try to get some old faces back and hopefully some new.
We have some very simple rules here. 1. Be nice. 2. To have jolly good fun. 3. No racism or slurs. 4. Listen to all orders. 5. Do not retreat. 6. Do not troll. Finally added it to the NaS list.

No intentional Teamkilling/Team-hitting.
Racial and homophobic slurs will not be tolerated.
Listen to all admin instructions.

Garissoning is allowed but excessive garissoning/camping will result in action against it by the admins
Crouching is only allowed when not in combat, forming double ranks, or behind man-made cover. Man-made is defined as fences, walls, etc. (if your being engaged you must stand)
Stand up to shoot and reload            (enforced by server options)
Max of 1 man spacing while in cover. (Must dress spacing) (only counts on man made cover)
No spacing while in line. Stand shoulder to shoulder. (You must dress spacing)
If you fall below 3 people in the event, you must join a friendly line or charge.
If one of you is in melee you all are, scouts included.
Officer units must be within 5 man spacing of a proper infantry formation to shoot their pistol.     
Rankers may not scavenge pistols.
Use proper bridges and crossings, you can't swim.
A Regiment may choose to split into 2 lines with their own officers.

Scouts may move up to a 20 man spacing away from the group.
Scouts may not fire unless fired upon.
Scouts must re-join the main line before engaging in melee and reloading.

Must follow all infantry rules unless changed below.

About us

The 6th New York Infantry Regiment "Wilson's Zouaves" is a semi-professional, English-speaking group. Acting as an organized and disciplined unit of infantrymen, we serve to do our duty through thick and thin. We follow a simple code for our brotherhood: "Nec aspera terrent," or "Hardships do not deter us." No matter the difficulty ahead of us, we will persevere through any problem we come across because we do so together. We perform in events weekly, showcasing our good vibes and fun times for the whole community to witness.

The regiment also partakes in other activities with one another, such as grand strategy games, Minecraft, other modules and NW in M&B: Warband, and other games. The regiment has also conducted several occasions where members have met up to share drinks and ultimately just have a good time. Besides gaming, our members also partake in avid conversation regarding what interests them, including tabletop games, history, music, and more. The core concept of our regiment is a place for strangers to become friends and for friends to become brothers. Outside of events, members are encouraged to spend time with each other and to become friends outside of the game. We have had members from all over the globe, predominantly from the United States and Canada, and continue to encourage anyone who is interested to join and be a part of this community regardless of location.

Formation of the Regiment

The 21st was founded in 2015, under Colonel Eireman, Lieutenant Colonel Dimefan, Sergeant Major Thomas. Soon Dimefan and Thomas decided to move on from the 21st and Lieutenant Hanover Stepped up to help lead the regiment. But soon Hanover would have to step down as he was joining the Marine Corps the community was one that saw itself as a disciplined line infantry regiment and looked for perfection when it came to this. For this time the 21st history is recorded in the old forum post, posted here. Alexander and his brother Funnyfreak would soon take the reins of the regiment from Eireman and Hanover, ushering in a new age of the 21st. We moved over to Bcof to join this new experience. We joined the confederacy with the 14thVI due to a lack of union presence at the time we changed to the union under the 6thNY and joined Excelsior Brigade.

History of the Regiment

The 6th New York Infantry Regiment, also called "Wilson's Zouaves", was a unit of the Union Army during the American Civil War. It was organized at New York City on May 25, 1861. The Regiment was composed of 5 initial companies of A, B, C, and D. Companies E, F, G, H, I, and K were added May 25, 1861. It was made up primarily of gang members, ex-cons, and criminals from the Bowery section of New York City. Rumor had it that a man had to prove he'd served time in jail before he was allowed to join.

From June 15 through June 23, 1861, the regiment left New York state and moved to Santa Rosa Island, Florida, where they were attached to: Santa Rosa Island, District of Florida, Department of the South, to May 1862. Who are the 4thUS Light Artillery Regiment?

On April 30th, 2021, Brigadier General Stryker authorized the official formation of the 4th United States Light Artillery Regiment lead by Captain PK_27. With a loyal and dedicated regimental base from the HRE, 39thNY, and other NW veterans, the 4thUS will be the main artillery regiment within the newly found Excelsior Brigade. Before BCOF, the regiment started from Wurttemberg  of the HRE was formed, eventually, this group would merge into the RSL and would continue to stay with Stryker since then. They are apart of Excelsior Brigade.

History of the 4th United States Light Artillery

Constituted 1 June 1821 in the Regular Army as the 4th Regiment of Artillery and organized from new and existing units with headquarters at Pensacola, Florida. Twelve batteries of the regiment served in the American Civil War. Battery B was part of the Union Army's crack Iron Brigade in the Army of the Potomac. 1862. 	About Grant's Legion Grant's Legion origins start in the Napoleonic Wars community where Colonel Alexander of the 21st and Captain Stryker of the RSL forged a great friendship. After many hard-fought battles and sieges in the Napoleonic Wars community, they have decided to move on to Battle Cry of Freedom and to create a Brigade. The name was chosen to be the Excelsior Brigade due to the brigade not only being based in New York but also based on the Union Army.  The regiments of Legion are the 39thNY, 4thUS, 11thNY, 2ndUSSS, 1stMO and the 5th Vermont. Our mission as Grant's Legion is to cultivate a friendly and cooperative community, not only within this brigade but with the BCOF community as well. We seek to achieve this by removing the toxicity of the NW community and breaking down barriers between previous NW leaders and previous WOR leaders. It was decided upon to change the name to Grant's Legion to stand out from the community and show that we do things differently. We want to create a community that can be enjoyable and last against the tests of time. Media Youtube Spoiler [close] Screenshots Spoiler [close] History of the Legion At the outbreak of the Civil War, the controversial Sickles desired to repair his public image, which had been marred by the shooting death of his wife's paramour, Philip Barton Key. Sickles was active in raising thousands of recruits from around New York City for service in the United States volunteers in May 1861 under the authority of the War Department. The first of Sickles' regiments mustered into service on June 20, 1861. Subsequently, he was appointed as the colonel of one of the four full regiments he organized. Later, Sickles was promoted to brigadier general of volunteers in September 1861, taking command of the brigade. The four regiments raised by Sickles that comprised the first Excelsior Brigade were the 70th, 72nd, 73rd, and 74th New York Infantry. In October 1861, the 71st New York, along with the 70th through the 74th Regiments and 10 Companies of the 3rd Indiana Cavalry, formed the Second Excelsior Brigade under General Sickles. The brigade was placed under the overall divisional command of Maj. Gen. Joseph Hooker in October. Its initial tasks included assisting in the building of defences around Washington and stopping resupply of the Confederates from Southern Maryland. In March 1862, Sickles was forced to relinquish command when Congress refused to confirm his commission, but he worked diligently to lobby among his Washington political contacts and reclaimed both his rank and his command on May 24, 1862, in time to rejoin the Army in the Peninsula Campaign. Because of this interruption, he missed his brigade's significant actions at the Battle of Williamsburg. Sickles was back in charge in time for the Battle of Seven Pines and the Seven Days Battles. On the morning of June 25 at the Battle of Oak Grove, Sickles's New Yorkers encountered difficulties moving through their abatis, then through the upper portions of an impeding swamp, and finally met stiff Confederate resistance, all of which threw the Federal line out of alignment. Sickles was again absent for the Second Battle of Bull Run, having used his political influences to obtain leave to go to New York City to recruit new troops. Col. Nelson Taylor instead led the brigade. The Excelsior Brigade, still under Colonel Taylor as Sickles had been promoted to divisional command, missed the Battle of Antietam in September because the III Corps was stationed on the lower Potomac River, protecting the capital. The brigade's strength had been augmented by the addition of the 120th New York. In the Battle of Fredericksburg, the Excelsior's were led by Col. George B. Hall. Brig. Gen. Joseph W. Revere commanded the Excelsior Brigade during the Battle of Chancellorsville in early May 1863. With the rest of Hooker's old division, it was held in reserve in some woods near the Chancellor House, guarding a road that led to the important United States ford over the Rappahannock River.     Following the Battle of Chancellorsville, Col. William R. Brewster of the 73rd New York assumed command of the Excelsior Brigade, which was then in the division of Brig. Gen Andrew A. Humphreys. Brewster led the brigade during the Gettysburg Campaign in June and July 1863. On July 2, the brigade was advanced to an area near the Peach Orchard. It was flanked out of that position by the Confederate division of Maj. Gen. Lafayette McLaws. The remains of the brigade took part in a counterattack late in the afternoon that recaptured some abandoned Union guns. Brewster reported that the brigade lost 778 of 1,837 engaged.     Brewster fell ill after the battle, and Brig. Gen. Francis Barretto Spinola assumed command during the pursuit of the Confederate army into Virginia. Spinola's brigade led the Union troops on July 23 at the Battle of Wapping Heights in Linden, Virginia, suffering 18 men killed, including two officers. Spinola was badly wounded in the fighting, along with dozens of his men. Col. J. Egbert Farnum of the 70th New York then commanded the brigade until Brewster returned to active duty for the autumn campaigns of 1863. Brewster inspired his men by rising from his “sick bed” to lead the Excelsiors in the Mine Run Campaign. to fight the Army of Northern Virginia. When the Army of the Potomac was reorganized in the spring of 1864 for the Overland Campaign of Lt. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant, Brewster retained brigade command. The Excelsior Brigade, augmented with the 11th Massachusetts and the 84th Pennsylvania, served in the Battle of the Wilderness in the Fourth Division, II Corps under Brig. Gen. Gershom Mott. When the remnants of the division became part of the Third Division of Maj. Gen. David B. Birney during the Battle of Spotsylvania, Brewster’s brigade became the division’s Fourth Brigade. He led these men at the Battle of Cold Harbor and in the initial operations of the Siege of Petersburg. Then the brigade was abolished. Most of the Excelsiors were moved to the First Brigade, Third Division. The individual regiments mustered out of the army during the summer of 1864, and the men returned home to New York. Outside of BCOF, the 39thNY will often play other games and hang out within our regimental discord. We pride ourselves on professionalism and experience within the ranks as well as creating a new home for many newer players. We primarily play as line infantry in events and we do have a competitive "guard company" which consists of the best players of the 39thNY. With a loyal and dedicated regimental base from the HRE, 39thNY, and other NW veterans, the 4thUS will be the main artillery regiment within the newly found Excelsior Brigade. Before BCOF, this regiment started from the famed 26thNC in North and South which would eventually become Wurttemburg of the HRE. Eventually, this group would merge into the RSL and would continue to stay with Stryker since then. Utilizing tried and proven tactics and techniques and founded on a bedrock of solid fighters and able officers, the 58NY is a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. We pride ourselves on putting significant focus on group tactics, especially in melee. Our regiment is upheld by a sound and pragmatic regime that gives every rank explicit responsibilities and purpose. If you choose to become an NCO or an officer, you choose to take on more responsibility in our regiment, and you will be held to higher standards than the rest of the regiment. Upon Dipington taking over the regiment it was voted upon to change the name to the 2nd United States Sharpshooters. Outside of BCOF, the 2ndUSSS will often play other games and hang out within our regimental discord. We pride ourselves on professionalism and experience within the ranks as well as creating a new home for many newer players. The Guard Company Chose to remain as the 39th under a new command. 1st Missouri Home Guard/Provisional Army The 1st Missouri Home Guard/Provisional Army is a new unit that isn't based in historical fact, to give us more freedom when it comes to structure and uniforms and general fun. 79th New York Highlanders This regiment was originally formed as the spritual successor to the 30th (Cambridgeshire) Regiment of Foot, a very successful semi-competitive regiment which managed to capture the North American Premier League's championship in its first iteration while maintaining casual members and events. With BCoF being available to the public our regiment and this game is starting to see life, there is now much more to look forward to than ever before. We will strive to grow our rank and compete in both competitive and casual events, bringing our experience and former success from the old module to a newly polished game and providing a rich experience for the newer and more experienced players alike. We are a regiment dedicated to professionalism and maturity and most importantly just having a good time. The Continental Ghosts NA / EU Saturday Line Battle Event

There is a possible siege or naval battle round(s) at the end of the event


This event will be held at 5:30 pm EST EVERY Saturday and Sunday on the TCG_Official_server on the Whigs and Tories Mod. Regiments may sign up for this event in the Dixieland Army TeamSpeak (217.79.181.97:9995) (team speak to be determined) up at the Top in the "Event Signup NA" channel. Signups start at roughly 5:00 pm before every event, and it will be first-come-first-serve signup system. We run on a 80 slot server.



The rules go as follows:

Line Infantry:
Lines must form double ranks when 8 or more people (colonels do not count towards the . If the line’s numbers fall below 8 people they may form a single line.
Fire On The Charge is permitted. (FOC).
Max of 2 ensigns per line.
Max of 1 man Spacing at all times.
Max of 1 colonel per line.
Line Infantry MUST have at least 3 people halted in a formation to reload (dont need to be in formation if behind a house. If a line’s numbers fall below 3 people, those last people must find another regiment and join their line. If a line is taking cover behind a fence they do not need to follow the double rank rule. If garrisoning a house no line formation is needed.

Light Infantry:
No more than 3 man spacing (remember you are not skirms you still follow some line rules).
If you have 8 or more you must make it double rank (the 3 man spacing between each guy still applies)
Max 1 Native Guides.
Regiments MAY crouch when in formation and/or firing.
Max 1 colonel.
NEED 3 or more men to reload (no tight formation needed like the line requires)
Fire On The Charge is permitted. (FOC)

Cavalry:
(there will be no cav unless both teams have it.)
Max of 15 Cavalry men on the field per team.
If the amount of mounted cav drops to 1 he/she must either dismount, or stay near a friendly unit (if there are 2 dismounted cav and one mounted they still may not reload, at least 3 must be dismounted and near eah other to reload).
Delaying as cavalry will result in slays.
Max of 1 colonel.
Firing On The Charge as cavalry will not be tolerated.
Firing on Horseback (FOH) is allowed only when stationary
RELOADING ON HORSEBACK IS PERMITTED.
When dismounted, the cavalry regiment must act as Line (this means you can Fire on charge).

All artillerymen MUST stay with their artillery (unless there is no ramrod resulting in you now acting as line).
Regiments may have only 1 Colonel per cannon.

General Rules:
NO Officer aiming (unless officer is in charge or his men are in charge).
NO Ramboing.*** This means reloading/fighting the enemy either alone when Line (if your reg is mid charge and you drop below 3 you may continue the charge either until death of you or the enemy, or you find a friendly Unit) !
NO Trolling. (I.E. Chat spam, hate messages, teamkilling, etc.)
NO Sappers.
NO Mel Gibson Units.***Exceptions may occur (SKIRM regiments are aloud 1 mel gibson if they choose).
