The players selected for this tournament are already in a steam groupchat, so no sign ups are required.

  • Here lay some of the basic information regarding the Tournament and Fantasy systems.

    • Fantasy will make a return. The format is to be determined but a cash prize will be offered for someone who is able to get the most amount of points.

Weekly Tournament | PUGs  - Hosted by Community Representative

Welcome to the Weekly Tournament or PUGS hosted by yours truly. This is a new tournament format I would like to introduce to both comp and causal players as there as been a lack of competitive events outside of Draft Leagues. How this format will work is a tournament will be hosted, then a PUG next week, then another Tournament. It switches every week with different tournament formats being introduced. The event will take place on Saturdays, 9pm EST, with the possibility of having two tournaments: one Saturday, and another Sunday. The tournament Sunday will introduce "different" ideas such as 5 bayonets 1 sword, or other various sorts.

  • The rules for this event will vary due to the difference in some tournaments, however, there will be some basic rules that apply.
    • The event will start exactly at 9pm EST, info will be given out in ts or on steam 10 minutes before start.
    • No trolling or toxicity (This has become a major problem and will be punished if happening).
    • No teamkilling or cheating
    • Exploiting or glitching will result in a ban from the event
    • Ignoring refs commands will result in warnings, then eventual temp bans
    • The format of the next event will be posted on Monday after the tournament on Saturday to give teams two weeks to prepare.
    • PUGS are meant for some fun, larger, and casual groupfighting to introduce newer players to a more "friendly" environment, rather than being thrown into the moshpit of Match Making.
    • There will be 2 PUG matches every other Saturday in between tournaments.

Tuesday Melee only Conquest | CTF - Hosted by Community Representative

Welcome to the weekly Tuesday Melee only Conquest | CTF event hosted by yours truly. This event will be melee only (in group-fighting mode) where it is primarily focused on infantry combat with objective based system to where you must fulfill and objective before being able to cap the next enemy spawn point. This will require custom maps that will be made and will take sometime to create in order for the event to happen. If we are unable to create said maps, we will use the default NW conquest maps / CTF. This event will also have the game mode "Murderball" at the end for a bit of fun after the sweatness of the previous maps of melee. This event will be hosted at Tuesday 7pm EST (this may change).

  • The rules for this event will be quite simple as most rules will be stated in game before the event map starts. Here listed are some basic universal rules for the event.
    • The event will start exactly at 7pm EST, info will be given out in ts 10 minutes before start.
    • The number of people required to move out as a group will be 5.
    • No teamkilling or cheating
    • Exploiting or glitching will result in a ban from the event
    • Ignoring admins commands will result in slays, then eventual temp bans
    • The event will be primarily line infantry bayonets with some officer swords or other units allowed
    • Other rules will be provided prior to event or beginning of round.

Thursday Modded Event - Hosted by Community Representative

Welcome to the weekly Thursday Modded event hosted by yours truly. This event is planned on bringing a creative aspect of the community by interchanging multiplayer mods of Mount & Blade: Warband every week to have a new unique experience. The game modes that will be played will be determined, by of course, the mod being played. For example, Native will have a siege for half and shield battle for other half. I could not find a title so I just went with the Romain Reigns theme (forgive me of my cringe) I will later find something that will make the thread header better. But until then, the rules of the event will be listed below:

    • The event will change a modification every week beginning with Native. The mods will change depending on play testing from the current hosts and whether the experience will be fun or not.
    • The rules of the event will change every week depending on the mod being played. Primarily, the most basic rules will be the following:
      • The event will start exactly at 8pm EST, info will be given out in ts 10 minutes before start.
      • Must be with a group of 3 or more people to move out
      • No teamkilling or cheating (self explanatory)
      • No exploring of certain glitches or bugs in mods (will result in ban)
      • Regiments or groups must have 5 or more to sign up for the event.
      • Specialties will be announced at the beginning of each week depending on the mod being used. (How these will be assigned will below)
      • How Specialties will be assigned: Regiments will be picked from criteria's determined by the host. This means no more sitting there and waiting at exactly the time in order to get a special slot.
    • Planned Mod Rotation
      • Native
      • Iron Europe
      • Fall of Mordor
      • The Deluge
      • March of Rome
      • Bear Force
      • Bello Civili
      • Blood and Iron (if it works)
      • Maybe more to be added if anyone else has ideas.

NA Community Representative Term: May - July

Week One: The Beginning

Hello everyone, it's ya boy russianfury and welcome to the Community Representative thread for the next few months. From what I have seen from most previous CRs before me, most lacked to cater to both sides of the community, competitive and pubs, and primarily focused on one or the other. I plan on implementing events for both sides and continuing in supporting current event hosters by any means required from me. These events will not be scheduled at the same time of current events, rather, I will try to fit them where it is optimal where there is no event taken place on that date and or time.

This thread will be attempted to be updated every two weeks with updates from the community and how events are going from my perspective. I will also give news on new plans I will have for current events or new event ideas. Furthermore, I would like to create some kind of central area (such as steam gc or discord) to where I can talk to most, if not all, regimental leaders event hosters so issues or drama or even recommendations of events could be centralized. If these methods are being abused just to smack talk each other, I will remove those who instigated and continued the petty drama and they will not be welcomed back.

As CR does come with being a miniature moderator, I will attempt to "clean" up some of the things being said on the forums. That being said, I will probably not be perfect in dealing with specific posts across the NA threads or other sections of the forums, but I will do my up most best.

The next few areas will contain my plans on how I will take this approach with full detail and if anybody feels as though the idea could be improved on, either PM me or of course use the thread to give your thoughts.

Modded Events
  • This event, as the name says, will be a weekly mod rotation of multiplayer modifications across Warband. This was done previously in the past, but unfortunately, the event ended due to lack of interest and questionable hosters.
  • Planned Mod Rotation
    • Native
    • Iron Europe
    • Rome at War
    • The Deluge
    • March of Rome
    • Blood and Iron
    • Fall or Mordor
    • Bear Force
    • Maybe more to be added if anyone else has ideas.
    [close]
  • This is the mod rotation that can change if problems arise from certain servers or issues with the modification. After Bear Force event happens, the next week will be Native again.
  • The rules of the event will vary from across mods, with specialties being determined for each mod. For example, there is only cav for native, or artillery for Iron Europe.
  • The planned date for the Modded Event will be every Thursday 8pm Eastern Standard Time.

Return of Melee Only Conquest | CTF
  • I previously hosted this event before. I believe many enjoyed it (especially competitive players) and some would like this event to make a return.
  • If anybody has experience with map creation, please do contact me and I want this time around for there to be custom maps that will fit the theme of the event.
  • As the event is called, the two game modes will we use is Conquest and CTF, with conquest taking most of the event time and CTF as the last round.
  • It's melee only, each side needs to move out in groups of 5 or more.
  • This event will take place every Monday 8pm Eastern Standard Time.

Bi-Weekly Tournaments | Bi-Weekly PUGS
  • Every two weeks, a tournament will be hosted, in between those weeks, a pick up game will be hosted.
  • The PUGS are to relax time in between tournaments and prepare teams. Additionally, they are to introduce newer players in more of a relaxed environment compared to something like Match making.
  • The tournaments will vary from normal 5v5, 6v6, 2v2, etc, to introducing interesting formats such as 5 bayonets 1 sword, or pike only, or 3 inf (melee only) 1 rifle, and 2 cav. (There are plenty more but it'll be a surprise :^))
  • The PUGs will be only on Saturdays at 9pm EST, while the tournaments can be on two days (two different tournaments) on Saturday and Sunday at 9pm EST.
  • Possible return of Dan the Chef's CTF league? I'm not sure but it would be welcomed.

New leagues
  • Here will list some of the leagues I would think people will be interested in doing.
  • Return of NANWL, however, this is very unlikely will most regiments not enjoying the 1v1 format and the recent increase of 1v1 leagues (3 leagues in the past 4 months).
  • Return of 2v2 summer league. I have been told a lot of regiments would be interested in doing this as it is not as micro intensive as 1v1s and enjoyable. The previous league has problems with administration and rule discrepancy, which I will make sure will not happen again.
  • As this is a personal favorite of mine, I would like to attempt to bring the Frisbee World Cup (FWC) to life. It may sound as a troll idea but I believe many will enjoy it, especially the difference of gameplay as anybody could get into it and be fairly good.
  • There will possibly be another Draft league coming soon after the end of Risk's NWCL. I will support who ever decides to make one and will bring back the popular Fantasy Draft League and encourage more active participation across competitive and pub players.

Campaign Linebattles | Other event format
  • The idea of Campaign linebattles was brought to me and would be a fun idea to try to do. It will be focused around Historical battles or an active campaign where in game performance will matter in the grand scheme of the event. I am just not sure how it will fit into the weekly schedule besides putting it on Tuesday. Tuesday, however, is a NaS event many regiments go to so I don't want to make a time conflict with that event.
  • Some other event ideas I will like to implement will be something such as Murderball (an EU event IK I'm taking your ideas) or other EU events that have creative thoughts that I think should be implemented as a once every two or three weeks.
  • Video of Murderball
    [close]
  • Pretty much different formats that are fun (maybe cav race or a very large shark and minos)
  • If anyone has any other formats that want to try to introduce, please do contact me.

That is all I have right now, thank you for reading this and hopefully this will be a very enjoyable summer for NA regiments. (Note: bottom line is used for future updates):

Events: NA / The Thursday Melee Only Conquest - Hosted by the LG
« on: June 24, 2019, 02:10:35 am »

The LG will be hosting a weekly melee only conquest on Thursdays at 8est. We will have servers allowed to have 100 players each. Depending on how many participate we will allocate how many servers to be used. This is, of course, is to avoid lag because this is a melee only event. The maps will be custom made in order to fit with the theme of the event. New custom maps are being made every week and at one point a cycle will begin. Later on we may add some kinds of specialties such as artillery or sappers for the event to create some variety.

Rules:
1) Melee Only
2) Regiments will not be forced to balance, within reason.
3) We will play a total of two maps lasting around 45 minutes to 1 hour.
4) The NANWL ban list/game suspensions will not apply.
5) Must need 4 people in a line in order to move out.
6) Max of 2 officers per regiment allowed.
7) No map glitching.
8.) You are not allowed to capture the enemy base until you have captured all other flags.
9) Individuals (such as a single person or up to 3) can run to friendly controlled flags. However, they cannot run to contested or enemy controlled flag unless they have 4 people in total. Furthermore, they cannot purposefully engage enemies in order to go a contested or enemy flag.

Regiments / 71st (Highland) Regiment of Foot

71st (Highland) Regiment of Foot
VAE VICTIS

71st Website

INTRODUCTION

The 71st (Highland) Regiment of Foot is a Mount and Blade Warband Napoleonic Wars regiment representing the regiments 1st Battalion after 1809. We are dedicated to creating lasting friendships, enjoying weekly events, and accurately representing military structure, command, and tactics -- all the while making sure our members are disciplined and able to follow orders to-the-letter. Previously known as the Nr.8 Leib Grenadiers. With our easy to get along with members and can-do attitude, the 71st aspires to enjoy the game for what it truly is.

HISTORY

The 71st was originally formed from the 2nd Battalion of the 32nd Regiment of Foot in 1758.  Shortly after their formation the 71st took part in a raid on the French coast at Cherbourg during the Seven Years' War. After smashing the fort and docks at Cherbourg, the 71st boarded a ship and headed back to England. Later on it would take part in a similar raid on Belleisle in 1761. In 1763 the regiment became invalid and was disbanded in 1768.

MacLeod's Highlanders

The MacLeod's Highlanders were raised from an independent Highland regiment by John Mackenzie, Lord MacLeod, son of the Earl of Cromartie, in 1777 as the 73rd (Highland) Regiment of Foot (MacLeod's Highlanders). Lord MacLeod was the first commander of the regiment, adopting the “Macleod of Harris tartan” that was originally a Mackenzie tartan. The 1st battalion served in the East India Campaign. Between 1778 and 1786 the 1st/73rd Highlanders saw service in Gambia in West Africa and in the Mysore War in India where the battalion was completely destroyed during the Battle of Conjeveram on 10 September 1780. A 2nd Battalion was raised in 1778, serving from 1780 in Gibraltar where they took part in the siege of the fortress before disbanding in 1786 after they were absorbed into the 1st Battalion in 1783. In 1786 the regiment was redesignated as the 71st (Highland) Regiment of Foot (MacLeod's Highlanders).

Re-designation

After being redesignated the 71st Highlanders carried on fighting in India where they fought in the Battle of Pondicherry in 1793 and at Ceylon in 1795. In 1798 after a number of years on active service the effective troops left in the regiment were transferred to the 74th Regiment of Foot and the remainder returned to Scotland by 1802. A 2nd Battalion was formed in 1804. Over the next few years the regiment changed its name a number of times before becoming the 71st (Glasgow Highland Light Infantry) in 1809 and finally 71st (Highland) Regiment of Foot (Light Infantry). In order to become Light Infantry the regiment changed the way it trained, marched and fought.

1st Battalion, 71st Highlanders

The 1st Battalion left Britain for the Cape of Good Hope in 1806 where they were involved in minor actions. In June 1806 they were shipped to South America where they were involved in the disastrous expedition against Buenos Aires by Sir Home Popham. The city was actually captured but later the inhabitants rose against the small British force and took them prisoner. The 1st/71st was one of the battalions captured. Two battalion flags or Regimental Colours were also captured. On the 21st. of April 1808 the regiment received new colours instead of those they had surrendered at Buenos Aires. The colours were presented by General Floyd, a veteran officer. After reforming the battalion they sailed in 1808 for Portugal where they took part in General Moore's advance into Spain and disastrous retreat out of Spain which ended with Moore's victory at Corunna. Upon leaving Spain the battalion was sent in 1809 on the Walcheren Campaign. In 1810 the battalion was back in Iberia. They fought all the way through the Peninsular War, in Vitoria battle they were to hold the extreme right of the line and where ambushed at the anfitheatre and masacred by two french regiments, 40 surrendered and arround 200 where dead or wounded. Also were at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 as part of the 3rd Brigade in Maj.General Sir Henry Clinton's 2nd Division. The 1st/71st lost 16 officers and 171 men killed and wounded at Waterloo.
