32nd New York Infantry Regiment
1st California Volunteers

Introduction

The 32ndNY is the extension of the prestiged 32nd Regiment of Foot, from the game Mount and Blade Warband: Napoleonic Wars into Battle Cry of Freedom. It was founded in the year 2011 and has stood strong ever since. During this time it grew to hold four different companies and was one of the largest and most battle hardened regiments in the community.
We have always been able to bring the most authentic, disciplined, and fun experience to our members. We pride ourselves in the respect and use of authentic drills and formations of the respective time period, while keeping a level of discipline unmatched by most. We pay great attention to the details of these drills and formations, however we do not expect every new member to get them first time: we have a team of experienced, kind and patient staff that are willing to help you and to guide you through your journey in the 32ndNY!
We hope to bring the same experience from our past to this community!

We will remain active in the Mount and Blade: Napoleonic Wars community while also starting afresh in Battle Cry of Freedom, playing linebattles in both games for the foreseeable future.

History

The 32nd New  York Regiment, also known as the 1st California Regiment was composed of three companies from New York City, two from Amsterdam, two from Ithaca, one from Tarrytown and one from Johnstown. It was organised and mustered at New York into U.S. Army service for two years on May 31st, 1861 at New Dorp, Staten Island.
It left the state for Washington on June 29th, was quartered there for a week and then encamped near Alexandria, where it was assigned to the 2nd Brigade, 5th Division, Army of Northeastern Virginia and took part in the battle of Fairfax Court House, Bullrun and then battle at Muson's Hill.
In March of 1862, with the 3rd Brigade, 1st Division, 1st Corps and the Army of the Potomac, the regiment moved to Manassas, returned to Alexandria and embarked for the Peninsula, where it took part in the battle at West Point and soon after was assigned to the 3rd Brigade, 1st Division, 6th Corps, with which it engaged in the Seven Days' battles. The regiment also participated in the battle of Crampton's Gap, Antietam and Fredericksburg.
