Map for the next month of Campaign

September 1812

The eighth month of the Campaign begun with sporadic actions to the North and West, French and Allied troops defending Villa Real(25) and Huesca(37) respectively. These attacks however were followed by a lightning push by French forces to the south, taking ground at Cuidad Real(16) and Malaga(6) whilst also capturing key fortresses at Granada(7) and Gibraltar(5). Despite these advances French forces remain in a precarious position with the Allies occupying territory on the border with France.

French skirmish pairs defending Villa Real

French troops spearheading a crossing over the Guadiana

Capturing an outlying fortress in Granada

Allied troops defending Gibraltar

October 1812

As both French and Allied troops settle into winter quarters after 9 months of campaigning, both sides take stock of their hard fought victories and losses during another year of war in the Peninsular. Allied forces have made outstanding progress towards threatening France itself, with their conquests to the North and with Zaragoza captured they have a base from which to continue operations in the region. France however still hold a firm foothold in the south, even securing the key strait of Gibraltar. Spanish guerrilla activity still threatens French interests to the east but without a base of fortification from which to operate and French forces still holding one of the keys to Portugal at Cuidad Rodrigo. In summary whilst the Allies have secured the most ground, French troops still maintain control over the most substantial number of forts in the region, a sound draw for the end of this Campaign...

We'll be putting this event on hold until interest piques for it to re-commence - thankyou for everyone's participation in this event, it has been an absolute blast to run and play over the last 4 months!
