Hello everybody. I am happy to announce my third international tournament. The tournament scene is going through quite some changes at the moment, with the EGS being started. The VPE series bringing back double-elimination tournaments and merging into the EGS series later. Still, tournaments being hosted outside of such series, and the idea of a 2-day tournament being widely discussed.

As I am usually doing my tournaments with a somewhat different approach I figured out that it would be perfect timing to realize a 2-day tournament. The first half will be played on a Saturday featuring the "Swiss System" that will lead us into a qualification for either Tier 1 or Tier 2. Sunday then will see a more classic tournament with 2 groups leading into semis and a final for each tier.

Regarding the size, I decided to go with 7v7. Pieters and Chriseh's new series will be played in a 6v6 and besides that 7v7 is the format most likely to involve a lot of teams without the need to form one-tournament teams as one cant get into the line-up of the usual team.

The tournament will happen Saturday the 29th of May and Sunday the 30th of May

-Decent behavior is expected. No insults, no racism, and no trolling of any kind.
-If you are not in a match you have to join the spectator. Interrupting an on-going match will result in a direct ban for involved players.
-Melee speed will be set on medium
-Nations will be UK and France
-No Marine/Light or Guard units allowed etc.
-A Round begins after both Captains have written "Ready"
- Players MUST sign up with their community names ONLY. No roleplay names allowed.
- Must also use community faces rather than randomized ones OR you face punishment.
-On both Saturday and Sunday the same roster has to be used.




Saturday: The qualification tournament will make use of the Swiss-system. Every team that reaches 3 wins is qualified for the Upper-Tier tournament on Sunday, every team that reaches 3 loses has to participate in Sundays Lower-Tier tournament. Every match will be an Ft5. Every team will play between 3 and 5 matches depending on how quick they reach 3 wins or 3 losses.

Sunday: Both tiers will have a similar tournament. With the seeding of Saturday's result, 2 groups will be formed. Every team will face every opponent of the same group once in a Ft5 match. Only the top 2 of each group advance into the Semi-Final (this stays the same up to groups of 6 teams to keep the group-stage to a maximum of competitiveness). It will then be Ft7 in both the Semi-Final and the Bronze match. Followed by a Ft10 in the final which will find the gold medalists of both tiers.

Theoritically it limits to create additional teams outside of the existing ones, although It's very unlikely many One day teams of rejects such as myself would form, but this roster rule limits such teams from forming at all if a team would have to sign up 10 players and yet not field 2-3 players of the team.

I would argue it's first and foremost to ensure that teams don't get affected too heavily if they qualify for the second day but somehow one or two of their players can't attend. Yeah 12 players (so potentially 5 subs) is a bit much for a 7v7 but it's probably to guarantee a maximum's safety.

I see your point Tomppa.

My idea behind it was to make sure every team can be comfortable signing-up, even if some key-players for example cant attend on Saturday, as well as to just generally allow teams to have a bigger rotation. It could be interesting for some higher-skilled teams to play their trials or lower-skilled members throughout the Saturday. But I guess the important part of the rule is the maximum and not the minimum. So if I see a decent amount of people agree with you I am happy to lower the minimum to 9 or 8 and probably even the maximum to 11.
