Hello, we are all more or less limited by factors such as our internet connection, our setup, our monitor etc.. and warband options are part of it, If your game is not set up correctly you will not play at your full potential at all.
/!\ Keep in mind that for many things it's a matter of feeling, some things I could explain with facts and others not /!\
Warband Launcher options :
DirectX 9 & 7 : Direct X9
- I recommend Direct X9 because it increases your overall vision you can see everything better so you can react more quickly, which for many people leads to chamber, range, block better.
(Nothing concrete but it can be noted that the vast majority of the current top 15 players play with DirectX 9) Pixel Shaders : OFF
- Put OFF except if you have trouble running Warband, in most cases it's just give you more FPS but less smoothness which will make you less reactive.
Show Framerate : As you want
- I put it on ON so i can check if my game is stable/lagging, this is not very important if you have a good PC.
Force Vertical Sync: OFF
- This is the last thing you should activate, yes it does make your game more stable and correct a lot of monitor problems at the cost of responsiveness in a competitive area the first thing you want to prioritize is your game responding to your movement the most faster possible.
Load Textures On Demands : ON
- This allows you to load textures only when you need them, i.e. it won't load unnecessary textures. Imagine you launch your game to play in a tournament, you only need the textures required for the map, the game etc... not all the textures in the game. In addition to giving you a FPS boost, it will make your game run more smooth.
Max. Frame Rate : Depends
- There are several clans those who only swear by as many FPS as possible, others who put them at the limit of their screen. Personally, I recommend putting a little more than the limit of your screen I have a 144 fps monitor and I have my game FPS at 150. too much FPS can make your game unstable and not enough make it not responsive enough.
(If you have a 60fps monitor I recommend you to put much more than your monitor FPS for example 120 or 150) Screen Resolution : Same as your monitor resolution
- My screen resolution is set to 1920x1080 so I set my game to the same resolution, if you have the possibility to set your resolution to 16 bits in the launcher test it, in many cases it makes your game run smoother as it will have less colour to process.
Single Threading : OFF
- If you have a good PC don't put it on ON, i recommend to test with ON & OFF. it makes your game using more cores in your processor if you have it on OFF so it's more smoother at least for me.
Thank you for reading, I still have a lot of things to say about this game and if you are as passionate about this game as I am and you want to know a lot more don't hesitate to join the 55th, we learn new things every day.
