My first experience was back in the beta, spent a few hours along with the rest of the 92nd and 51st helping the devs record parts of the trailer, most of which was not even used :(

Mine was on the release day of the game, The TRR server was already up and we decided to try it out. We managed to get about 50 players on that evening at the height of it's popularity, i remember checking the EU1 server to see that it was completely full (200 players)

Remember it took me a while to get a CD key -.- then a half hour battle to get into EU1

We made a marching band of about 20 people, drums and pipes. It was my first proper experience in NW and is still one of the best.
