Yes several members of mine over the years have had issues with depression and suicidal intentions, as they use the gaming world as an escape. A few of them have not come on in years, and a few people have been confirmed to have passed away. It's a problem like any other community, and people are not really equipped to deal or handle those situations appropriately..

You gonna end up lonely and unhappy before you hit your 30s.
Gaming is one of the least important things.
Furthermore never confuse someone you never have met personally as an actual friend.
It's a gaming buddy you get along with. It's less worth than a school/work/sports buddy you get along with.
Because the irl acquaintance might hook you up with a new job/flat/car/girl etc. and might go out with you.
The rat gaming buddy is going to try to keep you on the computer playing video games.
