Yup. :D I like Saladin because he was an honorable man also. He had a huge army and all his men looked up to him. I don't know too much about him, but I like him from the things I already know :D

Strategy, it wins the war in the end. Cold hard strategy.

Which reminds me. Sun Tzu is up there as well. He wrote the book for war.

Just simply having the power to inspire can do great things. The most memorable leaders didn't have to be the best tacticians because some of them didn't really need to be

Courage and strategy with Saladin

I agree with this, strategy and honour are needed for the ideal military commander, though they are not necessarily required   as a foundation for a great military commander in my opinion :)

While I agree with this, I would say sometimes it is not enough. Like Alexander's inspiration failing to drive his men across into India for example

Inspiration can only go so far. Plus if you're a great tactition you take that into account as well.
