Please, i'm Belgian
I believe that we were talking about this last time but let me do this again.
Taking enemy horses/weapons:
It's very simple. If you allow your opponent to take your sword/horse then it's your fault. Using enemy assets is a part of the game and you can't just make stupid limitations.
Time etc:
Another great rule. It makes heavy cavalry useless in this tournament. Everyone knows that it's easy to run for 7 minutes as hussars if you kill at least one enemy horse. It opens the gates of abuse.
I agree. And seeing as you posted this as a rule: "~
You must kill all of the enemy team in order to win or the timer runs out (see final rule)." Why not draw the line to its full extent and say: 'The team with the most alive will win'. As Patrykus mentioned, the other option will only cause for abuse: even if a player just runs back and forth, 'lookin' like he's making an attempt to kill the enemy, I think no one here is stupid enough to actually believe that he is in fact attempting to do so. Anyone who does, is either extremely naive or lying in his/her advantage.
If you would say 'team with most alive wins', then at least 1 mounted man, with 4 dismounted people, will make an effort to kill those people. It is in the end his own fault if he dismounts them and fails to kill them. If you allow the original rule of time, you will take away his responsibility to win as a player, and he will rely entirely on the timer. I don't think saying: 'but admins will decide whether one is running away or engaging properly' will be of any use here either. Seeing as it is impossible to accurately pinpoint the intentions of the last player alive. Make it like in a 1v1 situation. Last man stands, wins (or in majority, if it really must be).
People will always try and bend the rules to their advantage, just as long as they win, and Patrykus again is right, by pointing out that this makes it near to impossible for heavies to win. I
would say: 'if you're good at your class, you will win',
but with a rule like that, your skill won't matter as a heavy cavalry player, as skill won't be deciding the victory in this case, while merely following a simple rule will. If you want to allow all classes to be played (apart from lancers), the practice has to match the theory.
However, i do not mind the 'not picking up other weapons/horses' rule. I can live with that one.
