Ever since Waterloo, the French people completely lost their military pride. Its all about wine and sex now. They're pouting since they found out that they will not get wine or sex.  Silly frenchies.

Ever since Waterloo,

I would say to after world war 1. Napoleon III man he was into that shit.
Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

But he still contributed significantly to the Crimean war and the Italian wars in the 1850's.

And don't forget that Napoleon III was technically born a Dutchman.

I actually would do ww1 french. In fact a specific one. Not sure what unit, I read up somewhere before, militia-like. They travel to frontline in cabs and theyre called something dirty bearded men. (Yes thats the main reason, i miss having beard)

I read that cab-part too. French government confiscated all the Paris cabs to quickly move troops to the north. Pretty awesome.

I can imagine a french cab driver picking up a WW1 vet. He charges him double, for that trip to Somme.
