I gotta agree. Maybe I watched too much The Blue and The Gray, but every time I see a full grey uniform, my Farb-radar goes nuts.

Leave out your uniform in your back yard for a while. After a couple days/weeks it should start turning butternut.
Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

Thats only if his uniform is Logwood Grey which is dark grey.  I have full dark grey uniform. In a year, it would be dirty and brownish-yellow. And i plan to buy more confederate jacket and trouser in various pattern.

Thats what my uniform will look. Since I will wear the same trouser throughout this year but keeping my RD2 in closet since I portray Western Confederate (Columbus Depot Master Race)

 All about them blue cuffs

I rubbed my trousers in mud. Kind of cliche but it came out really well. Im not really going to to be doing much campaigning (for there isnt any in Nor Cal) so my gear isnt going to get that work out at events.

Hiking a muddy trail is just awesome.  I have passion to do hiking in full gear now. Will be doing more often this year.

I'm developing hyperparaplek-fobia

hyperparaplek-fobia: (Noun) ; The extreme fear of/for the extensive use of gold or silver braid, particularly those used on the officers uniform of Napoleonic re-enactors. From the Greek word of παραπλέκω, meaning braid.

I did spent 15 minutes trying to find the Greek word for braid, yes. And I'm not even sure this is it, but I'll go with it.

Those Cuirassiers though.

Also that sapper. The bands were pretty cringe inducing though, and everyone looked like they were being marched into Siberia rather than on parade.
Crawling back to you,
Ever thought of calling when you've had a few? 'cause I always do.
