Well, I've finally started to actually reenact, so now I can post here!

Can someone please teach me how to roll a damn cartridge properly? Last time I tried to do it the black powder exploded, nearly took off my index finger and thumb.

I place the stick more to the left on 1. After 5 you tap the bottom of the cartridge on a hard surface.

Hm. Ok. I'm trying that out as we speak.

I'm a bit confused about the first part. Haven't done it in a long time. Just try some things out.

Important part is that it's air-tight. If you get the stick out, you should hear a 'pop'.

What group are you in?

28th Volunteer Infantry Regiment of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, one of the members of the Irish Brigade. FAUGH A BALLAH! FEAR ME EMERALD GUARDS, YOU SHALL RUE THE DAY YOU LEFT THE UNION!

Mmhm. Mine is going to be bigger than yours though, saying I'm using Minie Balls. Also using percussion caps, so that saves me an annoying step.

That reminds me, I made a list of basically everything I needed to get for my regiment. Figure I may as well post it here in case anyone wants to know where to get what. Prices are there along with a link to the site.

Ok clearly. Your list is beautiful. Great sutlers! Which 28th MA are you in? Co B?

I must warn you CJ Daley is amazing quality for cheap price but he is quite dangerous when it come to timing. My friend waited one year for that sack coat to arrive.

Yeah, I got that warning from the SgtMaj. It came a bit late, but I got what I needed anyhow.
