I approve of this.

Well, you lads in the cavalry are not supposed to use firearms anyway. Or at least most of you.

Anyway, I can understand the age limit. Firearms aren't a thing to fool around with.

I play infantry as well. I'm not saying the law is ideal for us, but if Zac says the rule was necessary, I believe him.

Munk, I think 12 or 13 year old with guns is a bad idea. I know you people have a gun-culture, but we don't, and I'd like it to stay that way.

So it's no problem that you can't buy a beer untill you're 21 but the world will end if you can't have guns when you're 12.....

There's a big difference with shooting a shotgun at a course under surveillance and shooting a black powder musket at a re-enactment. We have enough irresponsible adults running around as it is.

Don't get me wrong, I think that starting with gun safety at an early age is not a bad idea in a gun-culture such as the USA, especially when concerning re-enactments, but I do wonder whether twelve years old is the proper age to start with it. I don't feel kids are responsible enough at that age.

Putting a age limit on sex is so silly. I mean, yeah, age of consent, of course, but are you really going to prosecute two teens who had sex at age 15?  :P

In most clubs you at least have to be 14 to fire however in my company we allow people younger kids to go out on the field as medics and suff. Although not accurate and it does a little away when you have a bunch of little kid swarm you when you go down but it helps with recruiting tremendously because many of the current regular members started of as medical kids (cadets).

Its kinda funny the topic were on. I bought my musket no licence from a guy in the back of a McDonalds parking lot. Not thats American!
Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

It perfectly fine to buy stuff in back alleys behind the McDonalds. Happens all the time in the Netherlands.

Wait what....

I think it shouldn't be judged by age. I have met 13 year olds who are more mature and thoughtful than 16 year olds.
I wouldn't lend my bow to that 16 year old, I'd rather give ti to the 13 yo. (that is, if he'd be able to pull it =D)

(it's the same for me on guns)
Probably one of the very few old-timers here who hasn't been a regimental leader.
