Now that's a proper drive. East coast sometimes you'll get 14 hour trips like when I went to 150th of Shiloh.

Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

how old is the guy on the far right? the guy with the glasses.

How old do you have to be to do combat in your state?

I think it's a bit of an American thing. On facebook, there was a kid of 13 1/2 who re-enacted a GI (Including weapons and shit), he posted some pics, and nobody gave a shit, really.

Modern glasses are something I just find inexcusable. Even worse then being fat. How hard is it to get a pair of historical glasses?

By the way, what's up with your forage cap? ITS SO BLUE!

Not sure but I wasent in this club. In that club was min age was 12 which I thought was kinda crazy. They were drill this kid and he was allot of difficulty even with shoulder arms.

Forage Cap colors  varied by contract Duuring. Although most caps were dark blue having a light blue one or even a lighter shade jacket is completely accurate. My cap is also likely the highest quality one there.

You just wait to you see the pictures of my group at Leipzig.

Prussian litewkas, blue, black or brown, French capotes, brown or grey, British greatcoats, French backpacks, Prussian backpacks, basically all sorts of muskets....
I'll be wearing so much French stuff, the only thing that makes me recognizable as a Prussian is my hat. And all 100% accurate. Landwehr (late 1813) for the win.

jesus, the minimum age in Australia for inter-club combat is 16...

we have extremely strict rules here in Oz, both on firearms and on swords and knives.

Besides that we have the worlds strictest customs and border security so if you even try to bring something illegal in, it will get siezed and you will get a warning letter on a good day, on a bad day you will go to jail for atleast 6 years i think it is.

Well, in the Netherlands it's pretty simple. As it's 'just' re-enactment, and not official fighting, there's no age limit. The NAN (umbrella organization) made the age limit for the battlefield 12 (so kids go musician), and naturally there's the gun laws.

I'm 16 and there's absolutely no problem with me riding over the battlefield with a sabre.  :P

I've run into even younger kids than that. 10 even. However, their dad is there the whole time and watching over them and the kid's not muzzle-sweeping everyone in the field so I'm sure the kid was properly trained by his dad about muzzle awareness and trigger safety. Biggest two things.

Also, I'm with you on glasses. Everyone looks at your face and sees a pair of prescription modern glasses and it just looks like absolute trash. Either get contacts or period frames with your prescription in them.

The guy in front with glasses is out of place, the one in the back kinda fits in.

I know the 26th North Carolina regiment has a unit in Australia, where I don't know, you'll have to check into that yourself.
