But the ammo isn't provided by the german rmy, or is it the same as goes in the MP40?

Pick em off the dead russians, PPSH round average 72 rounds while MP 40 is like 32 rounds

The German army didn't directly issue ammunition for the PPSh, so the soldier would've had to find his own. It was a throw-away weapon and very reliable. However, for those captured and issued, the designation was "MP717(r)" and would be supplied with 7.63 x 25mm Mauser ammunition.

There were PPSh's that were sent back to be rechambered for 9x19mm Parabellum from 7.62 x 25mm Tokarev. Their redesignation was "MP41(r)".
Humans are extremely complicated creatures. Death uncomplicates them to a frightening degree...

That's one reason for me never to start doing WWII Re-enactment. All the silly gun names with all the numbers.

Nothing makes sense!

Yes it does, just play CoD I and II, and google some more =D
Or it could have been a lengthy obsession for WWII....

But anyway Personally, Riddlez thinks the PPsh only looks good original.
Probably one of the very few old-timers here who hasn't been a regimental leader.

Don't you use an M1777 An IX/XIII? that's quite a few numbers.

But those numbers DO make sense.

Also, I have just fired two charlevilles about 5 times in total. I'm a cavalryman. Or well, I will be.

Using dates as the name only makes sense if they come from a not made up calendar.

All calenders are made up, the Revolutionary one just started later. It did make less sense though.

It's ugly and bad for good shooting. Therefor hated by pretty much the entire Dutch army.

Suck it, ya Brits!  :P
