Just came back from a two-hours cavalry training. Eight people, half in modern outfit, half in uniform.

It was awesome. Weather was good, horses were great, only my horse(rental, btw) was afraid of sabres so I couldn't join until the last rounds after I switched horses and borrowed a sabre.

So, two lines of 4 people charging trough eachother. First step, then trot, first few sabre clashes, and eventually we did a controlled gallop without clashing sabres. Damn, riding in a gallop over a field, sabre in hand... I honestly had to control myself not to charge all out. It's just so epic.

Oh and of course we trained formations etc too  ;)

Shud take picture of you guys in uniform ;P

I have been summoned!

Looks pretty damned warm, no wonder they left the pelisses off, can't imagine how the busbies feel in that heat though.

I also notice there seems to always be one female hussar.

of course it was warm,,this is 'straya   ;D

damn media making something bigger than usual,,the uniforms shows arent even SS,,except 1 which is waffen-ss  ,,as said can understand people not liking standard SS,,but Waffen-SS is another matter,,like banning the Russians due to the many more millions they killed even before the war....

"If the only lesson we can learn from history is to ignore it and it will almost certainly come around again. Denying the Nazis their 'impact' in history is just asking for a repeat performance."

"To deny the re-enactment of these units is much like denying that the Holocaust happened. People need to see this, they need to see that such horror can be dressed in a smart uniform and strut around. These people are just as important as the Battle of Britain Flights or the Cenotaph... They serve a purpose they continue to remind us that not all Germans were Nazis..."

love this

"The guys in the first two pictures that you have labelled SS are in fact Luftwaffe officers. Because they are wearing leather coats/jackets doe's not make them SS. The guy in the 3rd picture is portraying an SS officer. I attended Haworth on both days and only saw two SS out of thousands of visitors. Are we to ban Medieval re-enactment because Edward 1st ordered Jews wear a marking badge to denote there religion?. Doe's the reenacting of the great old British Tommy because it was the British who "invented" concentration camps??...Sensationalism reporting at its best..."

Here's your issue.

Probably the worst of the British Tabloids, because it likes to pretend it isn't one and blows its stories out of proportion to show you how hard hitting it is.
Crawling back to you,

Even in the Americas we're familiar with the horrors of the Daily Mail.

Sounds like America's nightly nationwide news broadcasts.
